To-Do Tuesday #52

To-Do list #52 - that must mean I've been joining in with this link-up for a year now!  Thank you, Roseanne, at Home Sewn by Us, for hosting the To-Do Tuesday linky party and always encouraging us to get the things on our lists accomplished each week!

And I accomplished a Biggie from my list this week, too - I have my Tiny Rails quilt spray basted...

Thanks, also, to our friend, Wendy, at Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting Life,
for her tips on spray basting successfully, because they really helped me do a good, thorough job of it, and that's helping the quilting go smoothly, too!

I've been so excited to get moving on this finish that the quilting is almost done!
Whoot Whoot!

What else was on last week's list?
  • Sew together the purple HSTs for the zigzag row quilt.  The top and bottom strip are complete, just need the long joining seam sewn.

  • Make more neutral string blocks for the Diamond Strings - no progress.
  • Play with a couple new projects - I did get another small quilt top sewn together.
For this coming week:

1.  Finish the Tiny Rails quilt!
2.  Sew up the purple zigzag row.
3.  Don't forget it's the end of the month and it's time to make my August Color Challenge block!  I have the fabric pulled - cutting and sewing really shouldn't take too long!

I'm glad you had some help with the spray basting - I only tried it once and I did it with a heavy hand and although the quilt has been washed repeatedly (a picnic table quilt)I can still feel the adhesive stiffness in it.

Tiny Rails is stunning. Care to share what brand of spray you use? I use Sulky KK 2000 for small projects, but have never tried to do a big quilt.

I'm delighted that the spray basting worked for you! Yay - and do I see spirals?? What fun! I think you need to sneak in some playful sewing, which I know you will do. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Hi Diann! Is that a spiral I spy on your pretty quilt top?! It sure looks gorgeous and I'm so happy that you had no issue with the spray basting and layering. Love the zigzag rows! Ooh, looking forward to your pink block, and thanks for linking up this week. ~smile~ Roseanne

I'm loving how your are quilting Tiny Rails. And spray basting is the way to go! Do you use 505 or another brand? I'm almost out and need to by more.

Tiny rails is looking good. Did you start your spiral with a square in the center? I always spray baste my quilts. The zigzags are also going to be a happy quilt.

What size did your Tiny Rails end up finishing? It's so pretty!!! I've not done much spray basting but so was eager to see what tips Wendy gave you. Darn if I couldn't find them so .... what was the best tip she gave you? Looking forward to your Color Block Challenge. It really is just about the end of August. Hard to believe ....

You did really well on last week's list, hopefully you've done well with this week's list. Looking forward to seeing Tiny Rails all finished. Love the yellow and pink(?) birdie fabric you have picked out for the color challenge block. That's very cute.
