Just yesterday I finished up a long-term English Paper Piecing project that I think I must have started back in 2017!
This is the first picture I could find of the hexies from when I originally began making them - July of 2017.
They are made from a mini charm pack of Persimmon by Basic Grey.
Over time they turned into diamond shapes -
and the diamonds were connected with a light blue Kona solid.
I added one row of a neutral Grunge Dots as a final border.
In recent months I've been hand quilting this tablerunner -
To finish the edges, I decided to trim off the neutral hexies to create a straight edge.
I folded over the edge of the backing to create the binding - and stitched that down on Friday night.
After a quick hand wash, and run through the dryer, it's finished!
This has been a great learning experience, and I still have lots more to learn about this kind of hand stitching! I will definitely try another EPP project - it's been a great take along project, as well as perfect for evening sewing time while watching TV.
For now, I'm pleased to have this little project completed - and completely done by hand!
Sharing at Quilting is more fun than Housework for Oh Scrap, and
Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching.

Well done on the finish, your table runner is lovely. Hexies are the best hand, ready to go project.
I love how your project has evolved, beautiful table runner.

Lovely finish on this hexie project--great colors nice work hugs, Julierose
I remember those hexies! It turned out beautiful, and I love the self-binding. Don't you just love Grunge Dots!
Curious as to what size this ended up being. I love that you were able to make yourself cut those light edge hexies off! It really added to the piece to do that:) It almost looks like an antique piece.
I agree with Vicki, it looks vintage/antique! It's really fun to read about your hand stitching journey. It ALMOST makes me want to try EPP. Almost. ;)
You did a great job from the design to hand stitching to the quilting! There is always a learning curve when it comes to new things, but you took the challenge head on and it paid off!
Awesome finish. I love EPP when I just sit for a bit.
What a terrific finish! Congratulations! Love the hand quilting!
Great table runner and beautiful finish!
Fun to see you enjoying the hand quilting and piecing. Cute little runner!
I tend to cut hexies off straight edge too makes it much easier to finish off with the binding. It looks great!
What a beautiful tablerunner! It is always nice to complete a project that has taken a long time. Well done!:-)
The hexies are beautiful!!

What a great finish. It is nice to have a new table runner that was a learning experience also. It is so pretty.
Hexies certainly do make good take along hand work. Your table runner came out beautifully.
That turned out really cute. I'm glad you found an old photo to show us its beginnings!
