I like these photos Mike took from our fall color drive the other day.
When we were looking for far-off swatches of color, here's what we saw -
It seemed as though the aspen were a mix of still green, a little bit of gold, and lots that were past the peak and had fallen.
But close up, here's what they looked like.
And, although not of aspen, this was a cool sight!
My book club has been participating in "Loveland Loves to Read" for several years now. This week we enjoyed dinner out together and then went to hear Anthony Doerr, the author of All the Light We Cannot See, speak.
He was fascinating! What a great speaker! And he encouraged everyone to create - whether it is with words, or paint, or fabric, or yarn - whatever you can do. He believes that creating is good for us and the world, even if no one ever sees what we create.
This week, Mike and I enjoyed the movie, "Christopher Robin."
And we enjoyed Discount Day, too! Only $5 each!
It is a sweet movie, part live action and part animated. I loved the scene at the end where Pooh asks Christopher Robin what day it is, and Christopher replies, "It's today, Pooh." Pooh exclaims, "Today is my favorite day!" Good to think of Today as your favorite day!
And because it's that time of year where we are seeing pumpkins everywhere, I just had to play with them in my sewing room!
Fun with strings!
After my Saturday post asking for advice about using phone book pages for string foundations, I decided to keep sewing with them, and it's working out just fine!
Hope you are enjoying the beginnings of fall where you live (or Spring, if you are in the southern hemisphere)! I really enjoy the changing of the seasons.

I love Aspen trees, especially in the Fall. Our mountains are changing to beautiful yellows and reds.
So many pretty colors in your photos! Leaves in sunshine is one of the prettiest sights I know. Haven't read that book yet, but have heard good things about it. Fun that you were able to hear the author speak!
Hi Diann! Oh my, those Aspen trees look so beautiful especially with that pop of color in the middle of them. And your pumpkin is very festive and perfect for the season. What are you going to do with it? Make a few more for a runner perhaps . . . Happy Thursday to you! ~smile~ Roseanne
CUTE pumpkin blocks! Can't wait to see the trees changing, and cooler temps!
What great clouds! And yay for fall.
Oh you had pretty views!! and i LOVE that pumpkin
And I love your string pumpkin!! Think you are giving me ideas again;)
I especially love the thunderhead behind the mountain. :D
Your string pumpkin is fantastic!
I have noticed the same thing about our aspens here - they are in wildly different stages, even in stands that are close to one another. Enjoy your autumn!
Looks like you've been enjoying the change in seasons, you've got some gorgeous views there.
I miss those Aspens! Fall is just so pretty in Colorado. We are experiencing tons of rain right now here in Peoria from hurricane Rosa so we are finally cooling off. Yay! Your pumpkin is so sweet on the diagonal.
