This week in slow stitching -
I have been so excited about finishing the Starburst quilt this week, and that included hand stitching the binding down as the last step. So I spent a couple evenings on that.

There was time to sew the quilt-as-you-go hexies into a small tabletopper, too.
It fits perfectly on this little wicker side table that I think I've had since I was a teenager. It's where my husband sets his camera for quick pick-up in case he wants to take a photo!
The new project is some Christmas redwork embroidery designs that I found at PinkernPunkin. Melisa posted a whole parade of her cross-stitch and embroidery designs for the holiday season. Thank you, Melisa! Some redwork embroidery sounded like just the thing for this busy time of year.
And got a few stitches in it already this evening (Saturday)!

Nice little hexie project! I love redwork and it is taking a lot of my will power to not join in! Oh but it is difficult LOL
Glad you were able to slow stitch all week. I try to do that too. I’ll be working on punish to the finish line on two current projects. Melisa tempts me every week with her wonderful stitchery designs.
Hey Diann, I just wanted to thank you for your October recommendation of the book Isola. I had it on hold from the library for a few weeks and finally got it on Friday night. I finished it Saturday night because I could hardly put it down. I loved the new-to-me locations and era. It was an exciting read from cover to cover!
Hooray for the Starburst finish! Your needle doesn't stay idle for very long. I recognize the side table from college days--does that make it antique, or just vintage? LOL.
Awww...Your small table topper is such a cute, perhaps even sentimental finish? I hopped over to Melisa's and ended up staying a while downloading some precious patterns. I believe I have a plan....:) Happy stitching!

The hexie topper is so pretty, Diann. It fits perfectly on the wicker table. I am just getting caught up on blog reading and saw Melisa's Christmas embroideries. Oh how I would love to stitch them...need more time in the day!
I love your hexie project. I have never done one as a quilt as you go. It makes a cute table topper. I also really like your Starburst quilt.
The hexie table topper turned out beautifully. How wise to have your camera someplace you can just pick it up and go. I always have to dig mine out of the camera bag.
