Slow stitching this week...

The sweet and simple "Giving Thanks" stitch from PinkernPunkin was a quick finish this week, and I even fully finished it to put with my November display.

I added a little bit of the pumpkins on aqua fabric to the side to make this a rectangular pillow.   It fits right in with the November heart!

Seeing lots of people working with hexies out in blogland got me inspired to pull out my set of Quilt As You Go hexie templates and make a few with my fall scraps.

Those two, above, turned into seven over the week and maybe I will stop there for a little mat.  They sure are pleasant to stitch up!  I think it takes longer to cut all the pieces and prep them for stitching than it does to sew them.

I've been wanting a new embroidery project, and a friend shared this Gail Pan book with me.  There are several in here that I'm considering starting.  I hope to get going on one this week!

That beautiful turquoise fabric is appearing in several projects at your place. Love the hexie project. I have not tried doing hexies that way before. I’m looking forward to seeing your next embroidery project. Gail Pan’s designs are fun. Gail at the cozy quilter

Your hexie project is a lovely way to finish off some scraps. And the Give Thanks stitch is a cute addition to your entryway chest. Hope you find a wonderful new design intheGail Panbook. Enjoy your stitching time today!

I love how you continue to use up the bits and bob scraps from your table toppers! Well done! Yes! Prepping projects is a timeconsuming project, but so worth it to keep projects moving along. I like your idea of using them as a mat! I love Gail Pan's sweet designs.

you have your pillow ready for Thanksgiving - that is neat and it looks so good. How do you like doing the hexies that way I have seen several make them but have never tried it.

I, too, have seen that technique for quilt-as-you-go hexies, but haven't tried it. Did you use a tutorial for it?

That butterfly fabric is so beautiful, no wonder you want to see it everywhere. I also have noticed these hexies all over Blogland and I'm very tempted too. How to you make them? Stitch the three layers together, then fold the backing and ladder-stitch it closed? I have a mind to give that a try but I need to clear my head first. You do lovely work, Diann. Enjoy! ;^)

You finished Give Thanks quickly and it looks great as a rectangle pillow. The pumpkins on aqua fabric is so pretty and brings the whole display together. I'm intrigued by the hexies and the quilt-as-you-go method. It will make a lovely table mat. Will you use the mat with the fall display or elsewhere?
