We so enjoyed our week in San Diego - especially being able to spend time by the ocean -
After returning home there's always lots to do - laundry, grocery shopping, making sure the bills are paid... back to reality! When I got back into my sewing room, I had to spend some time remembering where I left off, and what are the priorities to get back to first.
Before we left on the trip, I had started hand stitching the orange peels to the background, so there's that to continue working on.
And my Glowing Hearts are ready for the border to be added. I'm planning to use some of the leftover jelly roll strips for that purpose, but I don't have four that match. I do like these colors, though - so I could use them this way -
Or this way? Those dark blue cornerstones match the center cornerstones, but I'm not sure I'll use them.
While I'm thinking about this, I'll work on some orange blocks for a Rainbow Scrap Challenge project.

Nice to be home, but there are always chores to be done when you get home! I think I like the second option for the borders on glowing hearts. How big is the orange peel project? It’s so pretty! I have not seen the ocean for a couple of years but we live near the Great Lakes and see at least three of them on a regular basis. Take care. Gail at the cozy quilter
I really like the second layout on those pretty hearts. I love how the orange peel looks, is that a big quilt? Sometimes I think we need a vacation from our vacation because there is so much to do before and after we go. Have a wonderful day!
That is a beautiful shot of the ocean, I'm sure you'll be remembering these views for a long time. Those are pretty orange peels. I like your two-color borders, either one is very attractive.
I know that feeling of "what was I working on" in the sewing room. I felt that way yesterday. Your orange peel project is turning out nicely. Your Glowing Hearts are really fun. I like the two colors you picked for the borders. I got my Glowing Heart blocks all sashed and sewn together, with two of the border strips attached. I'm hoping I can finish the top today.
Hubs is headed to San Diego soon but I'm not able to tag along on that one, darn it! As unseasonably cool as it's been around here, I would have enjoyed the sun, ocean etc. It is a lot of work to be gone though, isn't it? Love your orange peels!
Fun to go and fun to be back home, and yes there is work to get ready to go and work to be done once back home! And then remember what needs doing at home, LOL, it's a challenge but a fun one too!
Oh that *entering back to reality* can be so hard... I like vacations!! Your glowing hearts is looking good!
Welcome Home! :) I like the two same border pieces at 90 degrees..so 'they are touching'.
Lots of progress on so many projects! Love those orange blocks. So bright and cheery! The orange peels are lovely. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

I'm so glad you had a nice vacation in San Diego. I love the fabrics in the orange peel blocks, and all the colors in your Glowing Hearts quilt, too. Hope you are getting settled back into reality.
I love those orange peels and your trip looks like it had been fun. Looks like the hearts are about complete
Welcome home! Funny . .well not really. ..how laundry, bills, groceries are the key items of focus returning from a trip. I like the first layout of your borders best. . .but, then, I I like the modern vibe.
Glad to hear you are back home safe and sound. I hope you have had time to rest after getting to those "back home chores" . You certainly have some fabulous projects to work on. Hugs.
oh all that home stuff just takes away from the fun! I like the idea of the borders - I can't decide which I like better tho
