Progress on the Spring QALs:
Glowing Hearts is a top! I went with a sort of asymmetrical plan for the borders, without cornerstones. It's kind of fun!
I took it outside for a photo, and even though the day was kind of breezy, it shows the colors better.
The backing is purchased, but batting had to be ordered, so it will take a little longer to get this one completely finished. Thankfully, the quilt parade, which begins Sunday (I think) accepts unfinished tops, too.
Thank you, Sandra, for a lovely design, and fun quilt-along!
Linking up at the Glowing Hearts quilt parade.
I've been working on my orange peel project, too. 13 out of 24 orange peels are appliqued to the background, so that's good progress!
I'm a pretty slow applique stitcher - I don't want the stitches to show, so I'm trying to be really careful.
Still more to do on each project, but they're both moving along!

I love the gradation from light to dark in your orange peels. I have to admit that I buy my batting by the 40 yard roll. This way, I never run out. I think I am on roll 6 or 7 by now…. Gail at the Cozy Quilter
Love your hearts and the way you did your borders! :)
The orange peels are just so cute!
the orange peels might go slow but they sure look pretty
Your glowing hearts are so pretty! I like the borders you chose, it's refreshing and light and really picks up all the colors. Those orange peels are gorgeous, I probably keep saying that, but I love them!
Nice finish to Glowing Hearts. Love, love your orange peel. Those fabrics are so pretty! Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

The orange peel blocks are lovely. The Glowing Hearts is so cute too!
I simply adore those orange peels.
It's been fun to surf blogs and see so many different Glowing Hearts. I saved the instructions but didn't start a new project. Maybe one of these days.... Love the colors and the light to dark movement in your orange peels. It's going to be wonderful when done. Take your time - it isn't a race. 😉
I like your glowing hearts with the asymmetrical borders and no cornerstones. It's also love those orange peels!
Your Glowing Hearts turned out beautifully! The asymmetrical border works well. Your Orange Peel project is really pretty, love the colors.
I admire your applique' work. The orange peels are one of my favorite designs but I don't have what it takes to make any.
Glad to see your Glowing Hearts to “flimsy “. You are making great progress on the orange peels. Very pretty. Both projects.
Cute Glowing Hearts and I love your orange peel units.
Wonderful wonderful Glowing Hearts quilt Diann! Those colours are just so happy and pleasing. I think the Winter Blues original version was the first time I’d done asymmetrical without cornerstones borders. Always amazing what a limited amount of fabric can push one to come up with! Thank you so much for participating yet again! Once it’s quilted it will be extra beautiful.
What a wonderful finish you have with your Glowing Hearts. The colour variance works so well with it and to me, it all seems so calm, cool and refreshing! Oh for the patience of your orange peel project. Beautiful!
i love that asymmetrical border!! Kind of continues the glow effect!
