Midweek Update

I haven't had a lot of time for sewing in recent days, but I did go shopping!  We had an errand to run in a shopping area south of here closer to Denver, so I took that opportunity to stop in at a favorite quilt shop that I hadn't visited in awhile.   Isn't this a fun view?

A little bit of each?  Yes, please!

To be honest, though, I didn't buy anything particularly exciting.  I was looking for some low volume background fabrics and some green.  I bought seven fat quarters because they had a "buy six, get one free" deal!

I know these will get used!

So, what have I gotten done in the sewing room in the last few days?  I'm making good progress on quilting the Stay at Home Round Robin.

I also sorted through a bunch of yellows (the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color of the month) and sandy/gold scraps to pick out enough pieces to make two sixteen patch stars.

Since then, I have cut pieces for two sixteen patch stars,
more about that in my Saturday post!

So - my goal for the rest of this week is to get the SAHRR quilted, and the two sixteen patch stars made.  That sounds doable, right?!

Pretty purchases! Are they for a specific project or just to enhance your stash? I’m hoping for green next month for RSC. Your quilting looks great. Gail at the cozy quilter

You went home with some very pretty greens. The quilting on the SAHRR is looking really good. Hope you've been able to make progress on your planned projects.

You excercised great restraint at the quilt shop. The quilting on your SAHRR is looking nice.

always nice to stop and look at fabric and see if there is anything to buy - sometimes you don't find much and other times go crazy

Definitely doable goals for this week! I haven't shopped in a while either so your photo sure looked enticing! Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

Love your SAHRR! So glad you are at the quilting stage. Great center block, by the way. It is fun to be inspired at the quilt shop, even if you only bought basics.

What a fun looking quilt shop!!! Those greens are very timely! I'm sure you'll come up with something in no time at all. And love how your SAHRR is looking, Diann! Some great yellows coming down the pike, too!

Love that view of the bolts of fabric with the black and white tile and the yellow door. You've got a good eye. And nice selection of colors to play with. I need to look at my yellows soon... maybe next week! \

Quilting starts with the fabric, so I would say you can count fabric shopping as quilting. Those are lovely vibrant greens.

Nothing like a little reckless fabric shopping to put some pep in your step, eh? Good for you. “Shopping one’s stash” is so overrated. Your SAHRR is looking great.
