To-Do Tuesday #173

I haven't published a To-To post for a few weeks because of everything going on with my mom, but I think we've reached a fairly stable point in her care, so I decided I could make some plans this week!

In my last to-do post, there were two main projects I was working on finishing up, and both were completed since that post.

Stay at Home Round Robin

and

Rainbow Beads

I was definitely happy to be able to finish both of those!

Besides a few Rainbow Scrap Challenge blocks that I've been working on, I also have another finish in the works.  This is the Dancing Plus quilt.  I finished hand quilting it a few weeks ago, and it's just been hanging out waiting for binding.

Edges stay-stitched and trimmed.

So this week's To-To list is a simple one - decide on a binding fabric, and get it made and attached!  But which one?  The blue is Kona Lagoon and the gray is a dark gray Grunge.  If I decide on the Grunge, I'll need more of it, but that's easy to find!

What do you think?

Well done on your finishes since your last to-do post! Very impressive!
The Dancing Plus quilt is looking great, I think I prefer the blue edging (but what do I know!!)

I vote for blue binding. Thinking of you and your mom at this time. Gail at the Cozy Quilter.

Beautiful finishes. I always tend to pick blue. I think it you want it to stand out a little pick blue, blend a little more then the grey? Glad to hear Mom is getting stable.

Great news about your mom! The blue will make a cheery finish and you don't have to make a store run. However, you know it's the granddaughters who help me with my decisions like that so what do I really know? LOL! Great finishes!

Binding is always a tough one for me. I tend to go darker always, but that's just me. I trust you will make the right decision, your quilts are always lovely. Glad to hear the good news about your Mom. Fingers crossed she continues to improve.

I like the gray binding. I think it goes with your background fabric really well.

That is some positive news about your Mom. Praying for continued improvement. I love the Dancing Plus quilt. I like the blue Kona fabric for the binding.

I love blue, but for this quilt I would pick something to go with the background.. the gray grunge is good....or maybe black and white stripe ? I love the quilt. Hope all goes well with your mom; I've been there, take care of yourself too. Mary C in WI

I like the gray, but I am all about the Grunge!! Either would work. Lovely finishes, you got that beads quilt done quickly, or so it seems!!

Two finishes--YAY! I love the black/white background on the plus quilt and I think the gray blends with that while letting the pluses do their thing!

May you continue to have stability for a while. I am not a fan of the grunge line, but I really like how that goes with the newsprint background.

The Lagoon makes those plus blocks sing! You have done really well in spite of all the other things needing your attention!

I like the gray. Feels like the blocks would shine better with that choice. Great job on both finishes and a nearly one too!

Great Finishes! I really like the Rainbow Beads. And the Dancing Plus quilt is wonderful. If you are interested I like the blue -- it is nice and bright. Have fun making your decision.

Great finishes, Diann. Love both quilts.
I like the gray and will use a small strip of the blue fabric to complete the binding, in fact, whichever one you choose will look great.
Good news about your mother!
Have a nice week.

Glad your Mum's situation is settling and you are able to relax and enjoy a few sewing finishes. I especially like the Rainbow Beads quilt - it has inspired me to have a look through my colour sorted scrap bins...
I would use the grey fabric for the binding of the Dancing Plus quilt but either way I'm sure it will look great and bring comfort to it's recipient.

I like seeing the word "stable" - I know you'll take anything you can get at this point! I love seeing your SAHRR again, just so pretty. Although I love the blue for your Dancing Crosses, the gray might bring out the background and not take away from the crosses. But either will look great!

Hi Diann! It will be interesting to see which binding you chose for your pretty Dancing Plus quilt. My vote would be for the Grunge, annoyingly enough since you need more. My reasoning is that it enhances the gray in the background, and I like a dark binding to frame the piece. I'm looking forward to seeing which direction you go! Good luck with this week's list and give your Mom an extra hug from me. {{Hugs}} a bunch. ~smile~ Roseanne

Diann the fact that your Mom is fairly stable is good news indeed. All of your finishes are lovely. I like the Grunge for your Dancing Pluses. It seems to make the background a highlight while making your pretty pluses pop. It will be fun to see which you decide on and what the next project you share will be. Thank you for linking with To Do Tuesday. I'll be looking forward to seeing what your binding choice will be.
