Recycling this post from earlier in March to link up with Confessions of a Fabric Addict. This little quilt is headed to Little Lambs of Utah for Hands2Help !
I was all excited to photograph my chandelier quilt finish and share it with you today. I finished it up Thursday afternoon - it's such a sweet little quilt, and deserves outdoor beauty shots. But there wasn't time for that, and it's cold and gray here today anyway. So I'm just sharing a couple of quickly snapped shots taken in my living room.
I quilted it simply with my walking foot using the serpentine stitch.
The binding is the same fabric as the setting triangles -
it's called Rainbow Garden - I finished it by machine.
I used some Quilter's Dream wool batting that I had and it's quite poofy, but also stiff.
I'm hoping a trip through the washer and dryer will soften it up.
This sweet little quilt makes me smile, which is certainly needed right now!

What a double whammy for your mom! I hope surgery goes well and she gets no sicker from COVID! Your finish is lovely!
I'm so sorry to hear the news of your mother. A broken hip is a horrible injury at any age but at 91 is really bad. Praying for a full recovery after this fall. Your quilt is lovely. I'm surprised to read that it is stiff though because I've heard nothing but good things about wool batting. Let us know how it goes post-wash.
Oh no! Diann I'm keeping you and Mom in my prayers. Sending lots of healing hugs your way! By the way, the quilt is splendid! HUGS!
Bummer. Not easy at any age. Take care of your mom and keep us posted on her progress when you have time. Love your Rainbow Chandelier!
So sorry to hear of your mom's troubles. Wishing her an easy surgery and speedy recovery.

Goodness, Diann! Hoping your Mom's surgery (and subsequent recovery) goes well. Quite a stressful time for you, I would imagine! Squeeze in some quilting time when you are able.
Diann, I am sending heaps of good thoughts and hugs for both you and your mom. Do keep us in the loop of her progress.
So sorry about your mom's challenges. Saying a prayer for you both. Your quilt is so cute. I enjoy your blog.
oh I am so sorry your mom fell and broke her hip on top of recovering from Covid - let us know how it goes I do hope she won't have too rough of a time. Hip surgery is so much better then it used to be and they will probably try to get her up soon and I hope that covid will not complicate things - so glad she has had all of her vaccines.
The quilt is looking great.
Oh gosh, Diann. I am so sorry! Dang that COVID virus! Just when we start to feel better about our chances to “get back to normal “! I’m sorry about your mom’s fall too! Never a good thing. Hope the surgery goes well today and she can recovery quickly. Rehab is probably a good possibility, but that is a good thing. Small baby steps to mobility again. Thinking of you and her today! Hope you feel all the virtual hugs coming from this community!

Rainbow Chandelier is beautiful! I’ve admired it every time you’ve shared it while you’ve worked on it, and it’s on my “Quilts on I Want To Make List.”

Love your chandelier quilt - what a fun idea to do it RSC style!!!
So sorry for your Mom and you. Covid topped by a broken hip seems to make March an awful month. She and you are in our prayers. Lovely finish to the chandelier quilt.
What a great finish. It looks terrific. Your poor mom. I hope surgery goes well and she is on the way to mending fast. Take care of yourself too. Don't do anything crazy now -- our hips can be compromised too. Hope you are getting on with your quilting -- green for March?

I can't believe that news...your mom has been through a lot it seems and now this. And of course you along with her. Lovely photo of you two.
I just read your last post too. Lovely finish on your Chandelier quilt. And I like those pretty blue blocks too. You have such a great space there to stitch in. Lots of room to spread things out. My space is very small and cramped by comparison though I am grateful for the room. Meanwhile, good luck with this latest set back for your poor mom.
Oh I hope your mom heals quickly. It is so hard when they are in their 90s. Your chandelier quilt is so pretty.
Oh, your poor mom! I hope she gets much better quickly. Sending virtual hugs and many good thoughts.

Adding my positive vibes and hugs to both you and your Mom. Either one of those things would be bad enough, but both at once. I hope she is resting comfortably.

So happy to read your mom’s surgery went well. And the news that she is already up in a chair is a great sign she will heal up nicely. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
Yikes Diann - I am terribly sorry to hear about your mom's injury and surgery. It is amazing what can be done now in the operating room though. Hoping she heals well and doesn't have any long lasting aftereffects. Take care of yourself and your mom.

Oh my goodness, Diann. You must feel so overwhelmed. One thing on top of another. Damn it. Sending lots of love and healing wishes.
I hope your Mum is continuing to make a good recovery from surgery and the Covid symptoms have gone. It's tough seeing our parents having to struggle with extra illness on top of the effects of aging isn't it?
Your quilt does look very effective and the quilting design compliments the patchwork very well.
