To-Do Tuesday #164

Good morning, and happy Tuesday!   I'm  joining in with To-Do Tuesday hosted by Linda at Texas Quilt Gal.  It's a great way to keep track of what needs to be done in my sewing room each week!

An important item on my list last week was to finish up the gift for my local quilt group's gift exchange (coming right up this Thursday!), which I finally got really going on over the weekend.  It's almost finished, and I'll share the whole thing in a finished post later in the week, but here's a little peek!

Along the way I dropped everything and made this gnome mini.  It was an "I just had to" moment!

There's been progress on the Arizona tablerunner gift, too.  Block #1 is made, and HSTs for block #2 are started.

The poor Frosties are still being neglected, and I probably won't touch them in the coming week either.  I think I will put them in time-out until after Christmas!  There will be lots of winter left to finish their borders and get them quilted.

On the coming week's list:
  • During the week, some deliveries I was waiting for happened - 4 yards of wide backing from Connecting Threads and basting spray coming from Amazon both arrived.  So I'm hoping to get one of my Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2022 quilt tops sandwiched for quilting in the next week.  First up is the Bloom basket quilt.  I got the backing piece cut - it needs some pressing and the batting cut to size also.
The backing is called Sprinkles - so perfect for the kind of quilts I make!

  • Keep working on the Arizona runner.  One block each week is a good pace for me, and then the final construction will be pretty simple.
  • I'm participating in a blog hop in January, and need to get going on the project for that.  The pattern I chose is fairly simple, and will work as a leader/ender, so I'll integrate it into my sewing that way for now.
Thanks for visiting on To-Do Tuesday!  Have a great week!

Wide backings are the best aren't they! I love the look of pieced ones but often don't want to take time to do that.

I have Sprinkles, too. It goes with so many things. What brand of basting spray do you use?

That gnome is so cute and drop everything and make it such fun. I love the sprinkles backing and the bloom basket top to match. Looking forward to seeing the gift exchange finished. Looks lovely.

Hi Diann! The guild exchange gift is so pretty - I love that blue!! And the gnome - well, I can understand why it was a DrEAMi moment. I was distracted by one, too. The snowmen won't mind one bit being in time-out. January is snowman time, in my book. Snow, snow, and more snow. Good luck with this week's list! {{Hugs}} a bunch! ~smile~ Roseanne

I see gnomes everywhere this time of the year. It is impossible to not fall under their magical spell. And if it is a quick project, what's not to love?

Thanks bunches for the Gnome link. He is veery cute. I like the one block a week concept -- but I think I'll be looking at quilting one quilt a week as I have a 2 quilts of my daughter's to do and my wide back order arrived too. Have a great week.

Oh that gnome! Lol on feeling the crunch to finish one project but you "had to" stop and make the gnome. :D Love that Sprinkles fabric - it looks perfect for the baskets backing. I'm sure the Frosties will bide their time just fine in time-out. ;) Thank you for sharing your goodies with To Do Tuesday!
