Does it count if I just *thought* about a couple of the things on my to-do list from last week? :) Two things on my list involved figuring out backings for some quilts - the crumb quilt and my son's tabletopper.
- Joann's was having a sale on Kona cottons, so I bought some yardage that will work for the crumb quilt backing. Right now it's still in the bag!
- For the tabletopper, I was thinking I might just piece the backing out of the leftovers from the front, the green, blue, and gray Grunge.
And then I got off on a tangent. Well, a tangent with a purpose, you could say! I've been wanting to get back to making blocks for the Covered in Love charity. Kat, who started the charity, posts a new block drive every couple of months. The block for July and August, find it HERE, will benefit Project Linus of Uvalde, Texas, and I really want to participate. It turns out the colors for these blocks are green, blue, maroon, khaki, and black. I definitely have that green and blue Grunge that fits. So I cut some squares!
Sewed them together into a 4 patch, cut and then re-sewed into a disappearing 4 patch!
I can definitely make a few more of these!
I did work on my purple blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge and posted about them on Saturday.
So on this week's list:
- Make more blocks for CiL.
- Backing for son's tabletopper.
- Work on my purple projects.
- Piece the backing for the crumb quilt? Maybe!
Joining in with To-Do Tuesday at Texas Quilt Gal - thanks, Linda, for hosting this fun link-up each week!

Yes, I think "thinking" counts! Sometimes you have to let an idea or a problem stew a bit till the solution hits you.
Yes, sure it counts. "Thinking is part of the creation process.
The first block por Covered with love quilt looks great.
Have a great week Diann and Good lucky with your new list.
Hi Diann! Oh, thank you so much for the nudge and reminder of Covered in Love. I always like to do some sewing for them, as well. My vote is that thinking about projects definitely counts as a to-do. That's an important step in every project, I think! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
I cut squares for the CiL blocks, too. I had a tooth pulled yesterday, so sewing them together will have to wait for a few days, but we have until late August, so that's not a problem. I say anything that moves a project forward counts.

Yes indeed! Thinking counts! Thanks too for the nudge to check out CiL. My like sort of turned upside down last month, but I want to get back to"normal". I forgot to look at Kat's post. Stay cool! It's going to be a hot week!
Thinking definitely counts, in my book. Those CIL blocks are really fun!
Oh my gosh, yes! Can we PLEASE count just THINKING about projects!?? Because I WIN!! (Not sure what the contest is but does it matter??). Your disappearing 4-patch will make a great quilt and I bet it's a quick and fun one!
figuring out colors, fabrics, size, whatever -- doesn't matter. Still part of the quilting process. Maybe the biggest part! I think your fabric choices for the CiL project will be perfect for a teen boy.
Oh yes thinking about your next plan of action definitely counts. The CIL block looks fabulous. Have a wonderful week, Diann
Lol YES on "thinking about" something on your list! I really like your CIL block, but I'm pretty prejudiced where Grunge is concerned. I saw that Kona sale last week while I was in Joann's but I couldn't decide on a color.
Thank you for sharing with us at To Do Tuesday!
I spend A LOT of time thinking about upcoming projects. I look forward to seeing how the next week goes for you.
