I Like Thursday #172

Colorado is in its "multiple personality" weather mode this week, as we went from this kind of day -

75 degrees on Sunday!

To this just 24 hours later -

And down to minus 9 degrees on Wednesday morning!
The snow was pretty today, though, with the clear blue sky,
and I love the snow hats on our solar lights by the garden!

The birds are always very active on snowy days around here, and we've been watching lots of goldfinches at the feeder.  They're still wearing their winter colors.

And look who we ran into the other day!

It's Milo!  What a sweet guy he is.  And we enjoyed lunch out on the restaurant patio with LeeAnna and Drew, too!

And in the sewing room this week, I've been having fun playing with these little two inch paper-pieced hearts.

So cute!  Thank you, Wendy, of Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting Life,
for the quilty inspiration!

Hope you're having a great week!  I'm joining in with the "I Like Thursday" bloggers over at Not Afraid of Color.

Good morning, Diann! Aww, those weather photos could have been taken here as well except for the -9 part. We didn't get anywhere near that cold. Look how nicely Milo is sitting! Like the good boy that he is. Love your little paper pieced hearts - can't wait to see where they end up. ~smile~ Roseanne

We had a couple of nice days. We are at 25 today, had a couple of inches of snow overnight. Weather, one of the safe topics to talk about. Even thought it is always a guessing game. The pictures of the gold finches is awesome. I thought maybe you were doing the valentine's day from Temecula using the tiny tree blocks. Sweet little paper pieced hearts.

Your weather is coming our way! Rained all night, still raining and it's supposed to freeze tomorrow. I need to get out and cut the daffodils that bloomed in the 70-degree weather earlier this week.

I need to find a HST tut for a heart shaped piece, as I have 50+ fuchsia/cream HSTs I didn't use on a project. I am feeling all the hearts right now and just want to make Valentine inspired pieces!! Off to look at your inspiration.

If you just wait a minute, the weather changes, eh? Glad you were able to visit with LeeAnna, Drew & Milo. What fun! And your little hearts are so fun! Love the fabrics you're using! Happy that I could help inspire you!

What a cute photo of Milo! You have a lovely line up of projects, Diann, as seen in your last post. I so admire your precision with piecing.
Our finches look just like yours and our weather has been changeable so far. But days are definitely lengthening.

Chilly, warm, sunny, overcast, repeat, repeat over here, too in my neck of California. Other than hoping for rain slipping into the cycle, I'm fine with it since our weather is nothing compared to what you and the rest of the country beyond is having.
Your tiny heart blogs has me thinking about making something heartfelt, too.

The weather was crazy this week. We got the warm and the cold as you did this week. The snow was pretty, but it only stayed on the ground less than 24 hours, it was gone by Thursday evening. Have a great weekend.

You've really gotten into a heart making mode. These are really cute. So nice that you got to have lunch with Leeanna, Drew and Milo. We're fortunate to be in FL right now where there is no snow. My stepdaughter sent a picture of frost on the grass in Houston yesterday morning. And they had ice, snow and wind at home in NY.

the two inch hearts are, squee!!! love them! My baby looks so pretty in his portrait! We have had snow nearly every day since Friday and it's created street bergs that are hard and rutted, and last night another 5" on top like icing. Oy vey.
