Mine is called "Flowers for Shanawdithit" because of these pretty florals that I used in both a purple and coral version to make 3 of the 4 stars for this quilt.
That blue with green flowers is the 4th star.
It has been a delightful experience to go from this -
my careful plan and diagram drawn out on graph paper!
To this -
With lots of this along the way!
Yes, that block on the right had to be unpicked and redone!
I've chosen a lovely purple fabric for the backing and binding, so all that is left to do is to baste and quilt my Beothuk Star, Flowers for Shanawdithit.
Only a few scraps left!
I'm still thinking about how to quilt this one, so I'll share again when it's all finished.
Thanks, again, Sandra, for sponsoring this QAL! I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Quilting is more fun than Housework for Oh Scrap.
It's so pretty, Diann! I love the name you chose, too :)
interesting info on the star - love how it turned out
Hi Diann! I love hearing about how you selected your fabrics for this piece. No wonder the coral and purple compliment each other so well - they're from the same line. They both look nice with the blue with green flowers, too. There is one more disguised star in the very center with that lovely background gray fabric. Love the backing fabric - it reminds me of a Grunge. I can't wait to see how you quilt yours - that is of course what is hanging me up right now! ~smile~ Roseanne
Pretty! It’s fun to see your plans drawn out and the final quilt top.
Ripping is not something we like doing, but it's a necessary part in our quilting:( And it pays off to do it. Your choice of fabrics make this flimsy sing.
It is lovely, Diann!
You did a really nice version Diann! I'm thinking I should have drawn it out like you did, maybe I would have been able to figure out that pattern. ;) Thanks for showing your boo-boo. I've sure made a LOT of them lately!
Beautiful quilt top! I really like the fabrics you used, Diann. Looking forward to seeing this beauty quilted. I am still thinking about the quilting on my own top as it sits in the queue. This has been a wonderful quilt along ... :) Pat
Congratulations on the lovely finished top! Great fabric choices, great piecing, just such a nice quilt.
Pretty! Love the purple fabric, it's shining
Wow!! Your quilt top turned out SEW pretty! I'm absolutely stunned by your planning notebook, though. I used to keep records like that, but not quite so detailed. The system fell apart after our last move. Misplaced (and later found) notebooks. It's fun to look back through the records, isn't it? Quite interesting to see the progression over time.
Very pretty! I think that design would be a fun one to quilt. I am looking forward to seeing what you decide on. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
Such a pretty quilt! Love the color choice and how you have arranged the colors. :-)
That was a fun little twist to that block until you had a ripping good time with it :-) Seriously, though, you have such a pretty Beothuk, and so thoughtfully made. The backing fabric is so pretty! I'm pondering quilting too, but I have some time before I quilt it. My quilting stints are going to have to be short and sweet for a bit.
As soon as I saw your quilt, I smiled. It's so pretty and cheerful! Your colors and their placement are so very beautiful! I'm sure your quilting will only enhance it's beauty! Congratulations on such a lovely finished flimsy!
great quilt, and its been a fun quilt a long
I was sure I'd been here, but apparently not! Must be the crossover from IG... I love your version, love the fabrics you used, and love the name! I think 'Shawna'dithit too, but she's really Shanawdithit ;-) though I'm sure she wouldn't mind having a nickname, and she'd love the flowers. Thank you so very much for quilting along Diann, and I will be watching to see how you do decide to quilt this pretty quilt!
