I Like Thursday #129 - a little of this and a little of that!

Happy Thursday!  Thanks for visiting on "I Like Thursday," and thanks to LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color for keeping this little group going.  I always enjoy our weekly online party!

I was so happy to see my daffodils finally blooming earlier this week!

My photo -

And Mike's, with his fancy camera and lens -

Then, the weather changed, and this was the view of the daffodils and other bulbs that have buds on them yesterday (Wednesday)...covered with buckets to keep them from getting covered in snow!

At the moment when I took this picture, it appeared to be hailing!  ;( But I think it was just pellet-like snowflakes - later it changed to a heavier and wetter snow.   I'm glad I covered everything up - hopefully my happy blooms will survive this Spring storm!

It was such a lovely late afternoon on Monday that I took my glass of wine out on the deck for the first time, and enjoyed sitting out there with it.

The view out there now -

Sometimes you just have to laugh!  This is Springtime in the Rockies!

You probably already know that I love to read, and visit the public library a lot.  The other day when I was there, this fun display caught my attention!

And then I walked around the other side, and there was this -

I'm sure librarians get all kinds of funny requests for help finding books!

If you are on Instagram, you might check out @chucklesandmeatloaf!  Two of the cutest little twin boys I've ever seen.  Mom posts lots of fun photos of their adventures.

Last week, I enjoyed this post from Preeti of Sew Preeti Quilts.  If you haven't visited Preeti's blog, you should!  She has a fun writing style and, of course, also makes beautiful quilts.  She was inspired by some fabric she found at Joann's, and after reading her post, I wanted some, too.  So I went to our Joann's, and came home with a yard of it.  :)

I haven't decided what I'll do with this yet, but it will be fun to play with!

Those are my likes for this week - hope it's been a good one for you, too!

Holy Moley, so sorry you got some snow but love the bucket idea! Will use that if we face that kind of weather here in the Northeast! Have a great week!

Hi Diann! We have that same storm and it was snowing like crazy last night right for the evening commute. Lots of accidents and now today we have two inches of rain predicted. Wow, that's some storm and the winds are nuts. Our daffodils aren't quite open yet - maybe in a week or two. The porch looks so nice and welcoming on Monday, and wasn't it nice to sit outside?! Happy Thursday to you. ~smile~ Roseanne

A nice day outside with daffodils and wine and then snow and cold - wow. I read about the blizzard conditions north of you; hopefully you didn't get that! Amazing isn't it. I notice you drink your wine in one of those stemless glasses. My SIL got me a couple of those and I haven't tried my wine in them. Not sure why since I've broken two stemmed wine glasses, but not because of too much wine. ;)
Glad to know your librarians have a sense of humor!
Oh I love that fabric! I have to have some and will look online for it since my Joann's is 50+ miles away.
Hope your snow is gone by the weekend!

Mother Nature played a nasty trick on a lot of us in the last couple days, where is her Spring spirit!! My crocus are up but not blooming yet and the bleeding hearts were popping up-I had to cover them yesterday when the snow started, 5" for us.

So smart to cover your daffodils. Ours got bit by a late cold snap but survived, though not as splendid as last year.

the weather can certainly be entertaining - especially at this time of year. I looked on line for the fabric and found some but don't know if I will get any - I read Preeti's blog too

I enjoyed seeing the clever and fun display at your library and the interesting fabric. One thing for sure around the Denver area is don't put your snow shovel away until mid to late May!

Love the library display and definitely had customers ask for books by color or size. So cool that you were able to find the girl scientists fabric. Preeti writes a great blog. So witty. Hope this is your last big snow. We are missing the snow (or rather it is missing us), but we're supposed to get rain and wind tomorrow. It has been a real roller coaster season. My daffodils opened up on Wednesday when it got up to 70.

They say New England weather changes often, but yours is nuts. Librarians are fun - I love that display. And that fabric is so cute! Sew Preeti Quilts is a fun blog to read.

Thank you for the shout-out, Diann!!! This is one time when I happy being an enabler :-) Those library requests are really funny. You are welcome to visit Washington DC to escape the snow. Lots of flowers and balmy weather.

About your last post, Diann. Too funny, I tried blaming my machine for inaccuracy only to find out the one quarter inch was dead on and the problem was me. Something about all those fractions make my head spin. Good luck with it...you are such a good piecer you’ll figure it out. Meanwhile, your daffodils are precious, hope they are ok. I always enjoy the library displays. Here they show local artists work which is always interesting. I enjoy Preeti’s blog too. Hope you get back to sipping wine on your deck soon.

I drug all of my strawberry grow bags in we were supposed to get snow. U nothing. This morning awoke to 61. As I was drugging the strawberries out of the garage, downpour. So a few minutes to dry off then attack housecleaning. Oh I did manage to see some daffodils, and hyacinths. Great fabric. Yep our library has that sign up too.

Good Afternoon, Diann, I am catching up today with some of my favorite blogs. Your daffodils are lovely. Your weather is crazy. We had cold two nights ago and I was out covering my gardens and moving my window boxes to shelter. No snow here though. Keeping my fingers crossed. It is supposed to be 70 degrees on the weekend. Time will tell. Cute fabric. Thank you for sharing ... :-) Pat

I can relate to your weather - all day it has been alternating sunshine and short blizzards of snow!!! I am salivating over your glass of wine. I gave up wine for Lent, so I only have five more days of penance to go! I appreciate that display in the library - I don't often think of librarians as having a sense of humor! Joining you from I Like Thursday.
