I Like Thursday #89 - Happy 4th!

Happy Thursday, friends!  Hope those of you in the U.S. enjoyed the 4th of July holiday!  We did at our house.

This week, I liked finishing up this little project, which ended being called Lemon and Lime, because I used Aurifil Lemon thread to quilt it.

Earlier this week, I really enjoyed spending a few hours boating out on a lake near us with some special friends from my teaching days.

Beautiful, green, and peaceful!

Lots of laughter and good conversation!

And our intrepid mascot, sweet Remi, who evidently loves going out in the boat!

I love fireworks!  Every 4th of July we walk down to the park near us to watch our city's big professional display, and it never disappoints.

I really liked this song that we heard in a local coffee shop lately -

"Love is a Wild Thing," by Kacey Musgraves.   You can listen to it on YouTube  - just search for it and it comes right up.  The words, melody, and voice are really beautiful!

Running like a river trying to find the ocean
Flowers in the concrete
Climbing over fences, blooming in the shadows
Places that you can't see
Coming through the melody when the night bird sings
Love is a wild thing

My favorite line is, "Even if you lose it, it will find you."

one thing about living in the county is that we can not see fireworks from our house - too many trees blocking things and the closest would be from about 15 miles away so doubtful I would see them even without trees. We sure hear the boom, boom of people setting them off though in their yards.

The quilting is fabulous! Looks like a fun time on the lake.
We don't see fireworks here either. Too far from town with too many trees and we are down too low. But we sure hear them and have big dogs in our laps.

Hi Diann,
Oh, Lemon and Lime turned out great! Is that a pontoon boat? (And do you have that song in your head now?!!) Remi looks like a fabulous mascot, and is doing a great job being on the lookout. I'm glad you had fun! Happy Thursday! ~smile~ Roseanne

Your Lemon and Lime quilt is so cute! And I love the dog on the boat. I've never tried to take my dogs on the boat (it's a sailboat and not mine) but they aren't particularly fond of water in general and I think it would freak them out. I wish they liked it, I have fond memories of staying on my uncles houseboat and I think that would have been fun with dogs.
