I found lots of things to like this week! I like that we have Christmas lights decorating our house again this year.
I think the lights are my favorite part of the Christmas holidays. Our neighborhood is fun to walk through this time of year - our after dinner walks are definitely more entertaining as we discover new displays each night!
My hubby and I had the chance to go "out" twice last week! I love going to the movies, and we hadn't been to one in awhile. So we went to "Wonder" and really enjoyed it!
I've posted about this book before - I discovered it when I taught 5th grade and read it aloud to my classes. It's such a good story about kids in school, diversity, and how their families handle it. And the best part is that the movie-makers did a great job turning the book into a movie!
For our Christmas gift to each other this year, Mike and I got tickets to see the show "Jersey Boys" at the big theater up in Ft. Collins, the city just to the north of us.
It was so good - one of our favorite shows! We also enjoyed dinner out and a walk through downtown Ft. Collins, which is just magical this time of year.
I enjoyed this book this week. Merry and Bright, by Debbie Macomber - an entertaining story and a quick read.
And one more thing to share - something I will enjoy all month, or at least until December 25! A friend always sends me the Jacquie Lawson Advent calendar.
It's an "e-calendar" I guess you could say. Each day you go to the icon on your computer or tablet and click on that day's ornament. There are activities to do and little videos to watch. It's very sweet and festive, and I really enjoy it! Here's a link to the Jacquie Lawson website, if you want to find out more.
Happy Thursday, friends! Hope you're enjoying your holiday season!

one thing I guess I would like at this time of year that I can't have in the country is all the Xmas lights of being in town - here you have to drive to see lights no one out here bothers much - we put a little up around the porch but haven't taken the time to do it yet
So many fun thinks around the holidays. I think the lights are my favorite part too. Enjoy all the festivities this month.
I love the lights, too, on other people's houses! No lights here this year, though I did put two new Christmas dish towels on the newly painted cabinets. Hoping to see Wonder before it leaves the theaters.
Love your Christmas lights. We live in the country but it is kind of fun to see some of the farms that are near the road decorate. I haven't been to a movie or Broadway show in years.
I forgot to mention Jacquie Lawson! I am doing the advent calendar too! Love the games! I want to see Ft Collins too... we'll be there within two weeks. You can come see that quilt. It's one of my favorites.

Lights are really fun to look at, we usually do a fair amount outside. But this year it's simple. I have read loads of Debbie's books over the years but have not in the last couple. I need to see what she has new.
I like your lights and yes it's fun to walk around the neighborhood to see how people display them. Glad you got to see Jersey Boys and I also want to see Wonder. Thanks for the hookup to Jacquie Lawson's website. Enjoy! mary in Az
I must tell you before I forget that I got to see Jersey Boys in Toronto a few years ago. It was wonderful.
Older daughter's street every house has put those spinning dots/snowflakes etc. projected onto them...oh it is so pretty to walk around. Magical even and apparently easy to do.
We always get a couple of Jacquies Christmas "cards" sent to us. Magical as well.
The lights are my favorite part too! Lights inside, lights outside, lights at work, professional lights in big neighborhoods, and regular lights in small ones. It's so fun! I especially like people who leave their lights on all night so I can see them in the early morning when I'm walking the dogs in the dark.
Hi Diann,
I have wanted to see Jersey Boys - I love the music. And Debbie Macomber, I love her books. I didn't know she had a new one out - I'll have to skip over to the library and get on the list. Your outside decorations look so pretty. ~smile~ Roseanne
An electronic advent calendar - what fun. It's always nice when they make a movie from a book the right way - that happens so rarely. And huzzah for lights!
Great likes! Hubby and I are hoping to get out to some movies this month as well. Thanks for the recommendation on Wonder, we were considering this one! Have a wonderful week!
