Tuesday is my regular golf day with friends that I have been participating in for years. This week it was such a nice day - a cooler temperature after weeks of heat, good friends, and an osprey soaring above us to provide distraction from bad golfing skills! 😜 This guy must have been feeding a young one because he came back and caught a fish three times and then would fly off and take it somewhere.
Not my photo - I borrowed this from allaboutbirds.com
The sunflower in my garden that was just starting to open on Sunday is fully open now, and so pretty. The bees have discovered it, too!
And more zinnias, too. I've never grown zinnias before - I'm so excited about these!
I've been reading a good book this week. It's a WWII historical fiction story that takes place on Martha's Vineyard, so I love the setting, and it involves several interesting storylines, too.
LeeAnna's question of the week is about fudgesicles vs orange creamsicles. Which would we choose? Ordinarily, for me, chocolate is always the first choice. But then - orange creamsicles are so yummy - now I want one!
This afternoon I am hosting my quilt group, so I've been busy getting ready for that. It only occurred to me yesterday afternoon (after I'd done all the grocery shopping!) that I should have gotten cold treats like fudgesicles and creamsicles for the treats to serve because it is so hot here.) Oh well - we're having cookies and grapes instead. At least there will be chocolate!

Good morning, Diann and Happy Thursday! Your flowers are spectacular! Zinnias are another one of my favorite flowers to grow; yours look amazing with the sunflower. Hmmm I think I would want both- fudgesicle and orange. LOL. The wax scent that I use daily in my house is Orangesicle. It smells heavenly. Enjoy your day. Hugs.
Glad you have had a bit of cooler temps! It has not been a "normal" hot summer here, although we have had temps in the high 90s, I think we have only had a couple 100s. The last couple days have been 86 and 89, very unusual. Now if we could just get more rain. Your flowers look pretty! Will you save the seeds? Zinnias are just about my favorite flower to grow, butterflies love them.
We used to buy Creamsicles at the theater in the small town where I grew up and enjoy them while watching a movie!
I hope you had a good get together with your quilt group! As for the osprey antics. . .what a sight especially to see it repeated!
I am growing zinnias for the first time this year too! They are so pretty! Your sunflower looks amazing!
Seems like a few of us might have a hard decision to make if someone offered fudgesicles AND creamsicles!. I wish I had garden this year. But my spring was spent attending a recovering hubby. We still aren’t over the hump! Enjoy your quilt group, my stitchery friends meet today too. Happy stitching and “conversating “!
Watching the osprey must have been interesting. The flowers have really perked up. I love the color of the zinnia. Now I'm wondering if I can grow them here...must check. I'll take a fudgesicle with a creamsicle on the side, please!
Osprey watching seems like fun. I normally hated orange flavored things, but I did like creamsicles. But you can never go wrong with chocolate!
It must've been interesting to see that osprey at work! I once saw a hawk fly to its nest with a snake dangling from its talons! Love your sunflower, and zinnias are great for butterflies! Looks like great quilt group snacks!!!
