Over a couple evenings this past week, I worked on stitching down the binding on Glowing Hearts, and it is close to being finished. Then we had a 104 degree day and it was just too hot to sit with a quilt anywhere near me! There's about 1 and 1/2 sides left to go on this, so that's my first slow stitching job of the day. Fingers crossed it doesn't heat up too much again today!
I hope to have a finished quilt to share by mid-week!
Meanwhile, I couldn't resist starting something new, and that is the sweet "Hello Summer" cross-stitch design from Primrose Cottage. It is a free stitch for newsletter subscribers and looks like it will be a fun one! The chart says not to share or duplicate in any form, so I can't show it to you here, but will say it has fun, summer-y colors, and motifs like cherries, watermelon, letters, and flowers. You can get it by subscribing to their newsletter.
Just a start...
Hope you enjoy some slow stitching time today!

Hello Summer sounds like the perfect stitchery to be working on this time of the year! Well done on making progress on the binding. I can't imagine having a quilt anywhere near me on a day as hot as 104 either!!!!!
It is too hot to do anything outside here too. I've been working on small projects and a little handwork idea. I hate summer heat.
Hope the super-high temps have reduced somewhat -- 104 is HOT! I love those hearts.
Your quilting looks so pretty on your photo of Glowing Hearts! That is going to be a sweet cross stitch, I love the font on it.
I love Primrose Cottage but like many other shops, they have gone to a sign-in with Shopify, which I intensely dislike, so I never sign in.
Amazingly it's been cooler than normal here, but then again we keep getting afternoon rain storms so that keeps the temps down, thought the humidity isn't fun. Enjoy your slow stitching today. You've got some fun stuff to work on. Stay cool!
That is such a pretty quilt!
I hope your weather stays cool enough to finish that binding today. I started my Hello Summer, maybe I should go whip up a little post this morning.
Love how this quilt is looking! Hope it cools down a bit so you can get some stitching in on it.
I hope you get the last of your binding on Glowing Hearts in the near future. Supposed to be hot today here. It’s lovely on my shady front deck. I should be stitching but I’m reading blogs. I think I sunburned my nose yesterday on the Garden Walk. What a dummy,it started out cool, so I didn’t even think about sunscreen. 🙄
Oh yuck! on that 104 temp!!! Glad you have some cooler cross-stitch to work on until it's cooler for quilting. We're only 90s here but our humidity is a killer. We're expecting thunderstorms later today but not cooler weather anytime soon. I had to chuckle when I saw your Primrose Cottage Stitchers nod. I went to the website and recognized the style. I have one of their patterns that I've been anxious to stitch. I immediately signed up for both their stitching & sewing newsletters. Thanks for sharing. I hope you're having a quiet, cooler stitching day today!
We haven't reached the triple digits yet. Do stay hydrated and cool, Diann. Glowing Hearts is so beautiful; I am sure you will have it all bound and ready for display soon. Fabulous start to the PCS piece. Enjoy your day. Hugs.
oh no 104 with no a/c!! I wouldn't want a quilt anywhere near be - I'd need an ice pack LOL. I love how the heart quilt turned out - wonderful colors - I will be working on binding today too
