I shared my pitiful pile of purples in my Wednesday post.
It was enough to get four quarter star blocks out of, plus a few 3.5 inch squares for the 16 patch stars.
So, then I went shopping at my LQS, and stocked up with some purple fat quarters. Maybe that is cheating, but it is also fun to add to the fabric stash!
Then it was simple to sew up four more purple blocks.
Plus it will be a lot easier to find the right variety of squares for the 16 patch stars. More on that in next Saturday's post. But meanwhile, I had to look at all the blocks with the purple ones added in. The purples are in each corner now.
60 blocks!

They may be low in number but aren't they all delightful Diann.
I love those little blocks you’re making. And don’t apologize for having to purchase fabrics. We all need to at *some point*! You don’t want to actually run out of fabric do you? Unthinkable! Hope your 4th was a good one!
I love this piece! I especially love the background color you chose! Really cool!
Great scrapiness added to your stash and project. Love seeing them grow;)
This quilt gets more and more interesting each month! I may need to raid my friend’s stash to finish my RSC challenge blocks this month. Trying to avoid purchasing! Gail at the cozy quilter.
Pitiful? Must be autocorrect :-) I see Playful :-) The exploding star is taking shape beautifully.
Your purples are very nice, and don't they look pretty against that blue background!
It's always fun to add a little bit of fresh fabrics to our stash. Your RSC blocks are looking great together. :)
You did well with the choices you had. That star project is looking so good. Love it!!
Pretty purples. I love how this is coming along.
I found when looking through purple that I didn't have near what I thought I did and will need to keep that thought in my head next time I go to the quilt shop
Purchasing a few needed fat quarters is not a bad thing. After all you are helping support your Local Quilt Shop! I absolutely love those quarter stars! I need to get out of my “slump”.
Maybe your stash of purple is not the biggest one but you still have some lovely prints in there. Getting some stash or scrap enhancement isn't wrong at all. I do it often. Some of my RSC blocks require bigger pieces than what I have in the scrap basket. We do what needs to be done.
Your quilt is so beautiful. ;^)
