This week I stitched up the light blue 16 patch star that I cut the pieces for a few weeks ago.
That got me to thinking - could I come up with enough dark blues to make one of these blocks? And, sure enough, I could!
I'll need twenty of these 12 inch finished blocks for a quilt 48 x 60,
so two blocks a month are needed!
I finished up by making a few more quarter star blocks in blue, too.
And then, just for fun, laid them out with their pink friends!
I am liking the blue Grunge background!

Grunge makes a great background for your stars. Wonderful blue scraps , but I don’t see any Penguins! Lol!
Loving your stars! They are wonderful and love the backgrounds in all of them!
I like that dark blue one a lot! The contrast makes the star shine.
Love the blocks - your blue scraps are really pretty!
Love those stars. The blue contrast with the grunge background is great. Those are going to make such a fun quilt.
I will always prefer Grunge backgrounds to anything! Maybe I need to start another project using some dark blue Grunge??
I like those stars in those blocks! such pretty blues
Oh how lovely, Diann. Blue and pink do play well together. The dark grunge fabric is gorgeous. I look forward to seeing this quilt grow. Happy Saturday. Hugs.
You have been busy! I like both your star projects. The 1/4 stars are so cool. Do they make a 12” square also?
Look at all those pretty blue star blocks! Grunge as background is perfect.
Pink and blue is such a pleasing combo (my SAHRR is that with burgundy in the mix). I think I should do your 16-patch stars, as I have WAY too many squares in 2.5" - 3.5" sizes. These are 3.5 I think, yes? I invariably end up with more than one RSC project!
The blue blocks look great with their pink friends.
