We're away from home, spending a long weekend with friends in Arizona, and had a fun outing today with a boat ride on Canyon Lake in the Superstition Mountains. It was a gorgeous day with amazing scenery!
But, earlier this week, besides working on my Stay at Home Round Robin (which does involve some blue), I had some time to get out my Rainbow Scrap Challenge project bin and switched out the pink scraps for the blue.
Along the way, I stitched up a few quarter star blocks in blue.
With the smallest scraps, I'm again making four patches -
While sorting and pressing, I looked for pieces that would give me some 3.5 inch squares for a 16 patch square and got those cut out. I still need the smaller squares for the star points and then will start sewing these together.
Even my Winter SAL stitching involved blue! I'm working on finishing up the last border sections and using DMC pearl cotton in color 930 for that. Medium Antique Blue.
Lots of blue!

What a beautiful day on the lake! Have to admire that blue sky (ours have been overcast almost all week). You definitely made the most of your blue scraps this week.
Your lake trip sounds so fun! That blue sky is beautiful. Love your blues!
Lots of great blue - especially that blue sky in Arizona. We're seeing a lot of grey skies lately here. Those quarter star blocks intrigue me. I might have to try some.
All the blues are looking great. Question on the cross stitch frame - do you add the stitch between the sets of 3 on the way back of the cross stitch? I was doing it at the same time and it was frustrating me.... so it got put in time out.
I love the blue sky of the south west - have fun and soak up the sun
BLUE skies, scraps, and squares? You are fully living the RSC life, Diann! Enjoy your weekend away.
You've got a good start on blue.
What a gorgeous photo of blue. I hope you are having a fabulous time! Great start on using blue from your scraps. Those quarter stars look great!
I especially love that quarter star block, Diann! Great job on all the blues, including the photo of your getaway!!!
Beautiful blues and awesome pictures. Thanks for sharing.
You really got going with your blues. The 16 patch star block will be beautiful. I found a blue piece of Aida in my stash. Not as pale as yours but it will work for the Winter Stamps from Melisa. I have to use what I have. 😊
So much blue-even the water! Loving those quarter stars!
So many beautiful blue projects!
Love all that blue ! One of my favourite colours! Enjoy your getaway! Gail at the cozy quilter.
The weather looks like it is cooperating nicely for your trip.
what pretty fabrics in your blocks. How do you control, organize your fabrics Diann? the X stitch looks so soothing to do

Gorgeous blues everywhere in this post, Diann. Azure blue skies and lots of pretty blue fabrics. The quarter square blocks are pretty and the cross stitch looks like a relaxing project to do while on vacation. You are certainly enjoying stunning scenery. Have a wonderful time away with your friends.
Interesting to realize you are making several different blocks and what looks like lots of them. I'm doing 2 a month. Arizona looked beautiful in the picture. I take it it was a fairly warm day?
Your outings sound wonderful! Beautiful photo! I am always so impressed by quilters who keep their points! Very nice! Beautiful blocks! Happy stitching!
What pretty blue!! glad you are having a good time - Hopefully you are still there and warm and avoiding this chilly week haha!
