whether busy or quiet!
Younger son and I baked some cut out sugar cookies over the weekend. They're our favorite for this time of year. So much so that I had put a few in the freezer to save them for Christmas Day dessert!
I made us some new cloth napkins for our Christmas dinner. These are made from my favorite napkin tutorial, found here. Over the years I've made many of these - two fat quarters make two napkins and they are reversible. I really wanted to make four this time, though, so I bought a half yard of each print. (Joann's was having a really good sale on the holiday prints - I think I paid $4 total!)
I love the cardinal print!
I enjoyed this book this week. It takes place on a remote island off the coast of Scotland, with lots of interesting characters.
LeeAnna's question of the week is about a favorite Christmas gift we were given as a child. One year my sister and I each wanted a Tressy doll. Do you remember those? Their hair grew, and you could play with it and make different hairdos. My memory is fuzzy on this, but I think at some point I decided to take Tressy off my list because I didn't think our parents would get her for us. Somehow I still got one, though - lucky me!
Merry Christmas! Hope you got everything on your list!

Merry Christmas, Diann, to you and your family. I so enjoy our friendship.
Yay for sugar cookies! Merry Christmas, and I hope you get all the Tressy dolls you want. :)
I really need to take the time to make some sugar cookies. Love those cloth napkins! (You've given me ideas to tack onto my project list. :-) )
Merry Christmas! I hope you have a wonderful day!
Merry Merry Christmas! I don't remember a Tressy doll. My favorites were my Barbies. Pretty new napkins, your table will be festive! I like the Santa hat stitchery too.
I don't remember Tressy dolls - but I wasn't much of a doll person, I was always a craft person and I remember getting paint by numbers, weaving kits, stitching kits stuff like that and one time a watch
Merry Christmas to you and Mike. My daughter got me a new TV and the bonus is she set it up for me, otherwise it might still be sitting in its box. I didn't make a single cookie this year. First time in a very long time.

Love your Santa hat stitch! I ended up using a pale blue for my snowflakes also. I need to make Christmas napkins for next year. Thanks for the inspiration. I have a new planner. I’m going to try to use it more in 2025!
It’s me in the above anonymous post! Santa and his helper brought me a new device for Christmas! Something’s need to be updated!
No cookie baking happened at our house, much to My Guy's and Grad Girl's sorrow. They fully intended to make cookies, but forget to pack the recipes. I don't remember Tressy, but I was never much of a doll girl. Hope you had a very Merry Christmas.
I got a doll that had that could grow as well. It wasn't Tressy. Hmm, what was her name?
yummy cookies!!! those look to pretty to eat!
Fun present day memories and childhood memories of Christmas, Diann! I had a Chrissy doll whose hair grew like that! Merry belated Christmas!!!
