Midweek Update

For several weeks I've been working on getting my Split 9 patch quilt finished, and I am almost there!  Quilting is done, and binding is machine stitched to the front.  I'll be spending the next few evenings hand stitching it to the back of the quilt.  Hoping to have a finish to share in my Saturday post!

My scrappy project of making four patches out of whatever I pull out of the Little Penguin scrap basket continues.  I've made 20 four patches so far.  These are 4.5 inch blocks.  I think there are lots of smaller pieces in there that can make 3.5 inch blocks, so I'll start working on those next.  No real plans for these, yet, but I'm sure they will come in handy somewhere!

There were even some little penguins in the basket!

you could always combine those blocks into a quilt- your four patch penguin blocks and the scrappy patchwork by alternating blocks.

It always feels so nice to have a quilt in the binding stage. Enjoy the slow stitching on the Split 9 patch. Those 4 patches are very fun. You've almost got a table topper with what you've assembled so far.

Sweet 4-patches and of course you found some penguins, no surprise there! Haha! Keep stitching along on that binding. I'll look forward to seeing it Saturday!

Fun four patches. Are you machine quilting them or hand piecing them? I can't wait to see the reveal of the split nines. I really should finish the blocks I need for mine. I should get my sewing space back sometime Saturday once the dragon goes home.

Are you finding time to finish up? I'm looking forward to your share! Those four patches look so good together.

It is so exciting to hear that your Split Nine Patch is nearing a finish. The blocks that you are working on are looking great as well. My sewing machine has been put away until after Christmas. You make me want to pull out my scrap bin and start cutting squares. Happy quilting, sweet friend. Hugs.
