I love Christmas trees! Any and all, real or artificial, large or small, and all their decorations, too. I grew up always having a real tree, and we continued that until our kids got older and it just became more convenient to go get the box out of the storage room. The only thing I really miss is that wonderful pine smell you get with a fresh tree.
Last year we got a new tree, and I love it because it's smaller than the previous one, and the lights are really pretty. We put ours up the first weekend of December because I like a little space between Thanksgiving, fall decorations, and Christmas!
I'm in the angel camp when it comes to what goes on top of the tree. Here is the angel we used for many years. My mom made her for us when Mike and I were first married.
You'll notice she's not on the tree this year, and that's because the top of the new tree isn't big enough to hang her up there.
So I dug out a very old angel that I think might have come from my dad's family and was always on our tree growing up. She definitely looks like an antique! But she does fit this tree much better.
And one more tree that I really love - this is my mom's ceramic tree that her neighbors made for her many years ago. We made sure it moved with her from Arizona and get it out every year. If I could have a tree like this, I think I might not need a regular tree! I'm not sure if there are places around here to do those kind of ceramics anymore.

Smaller trees are definitely easier and do make more sense when the kids aren't home to help. Your mother's tree is very fun. I think my sister gifted me one of those many years ago. I'm not sure where it's it at.
LOVE that angel your Mom made, also the one you are using this year. I love those ceramic trees. We are debating a smaller tree. We sold our big fat one earlier this year - there just isn't space for it unless we move furniture. But there is one little space left that could hold a small thin tree. We shall see. I've only decorated only minimally so far, hopefully more this weekend!
Your tree is beautiful, love how sentimental you are with your angel. Years ago I crocheted a tree topper angel for DH's mom. Last time I bought a faux tree I wanted a pencil one but I couldn't find what I wanted so I compromised on a prelit one that is larger than a pencil but smaller than the one we used to have.
Christmas trees are so festive and fun. Our tree is on our patio again this year (no room in the living room due to hubs' office being there) and we have lights on it. The birds and squirrels love it because we put seeds and nuts in it. While we enjoy the tree, I miss not having one in the house, because I enjoy the fragrance, and I like putting gifts under it. Our tree topper is a cross. Your trees are lovely, and that little ceramic tree is a beauty!
we are thinking of getting smaller tree for next year that will make it easier to get up and down - easier to pick up from storage too as we get older. I think I will look for a square end table to put it on in the corner the larger one is in now and just store the table with the tree to get out each year. I noticed this year that it was harder for Mike to get the tree box in and out of storage - he is getting older even if he doesn't want to admit it.
I'm barely decorating this year. I had one of those ceramic trees at one point, but it wasn't nearly as fancy as your mom's. I'm going to start wrapping tomorrow as we will be delivering gifts to Nashville on Tuesday. Both grands with wives and the great will be coming home for the holidays but we will be with the other son.
oh my gosh, my mother had a ceramic shop, and I made countless trees like the one that belonged to your mother. I have a little white one on the hall table now that I made, and it's now missing one star at the top and one little bulb. Where do we get replacements?

Oh, it’s fun to see your mom’s ceramic tree. Mr Busy’s mom had one like that! His sister has it now. We will put up an artificial tree next year if we do one at all. It is tons of work, lately. I’m satisfied with Christmas themed decor. Wall hangings, pillows, etc. I do love the lights on a tree.
Cute tree. We haven't had a tree in years, and I miss the pine smell. I need to start doing garlands at some point, just for the scent.
Very pretty tree, and of course it has a quilted tree skirt! So nice to have those special angel tree toppers with such sentimental memories.
This is the last year for our artificial. It's down to almost no working lights. LOL! Hubster has re-strung the lights to space them out. So once the clearance starts, we are buying a new one!!!
Your Christmas tree is so pretty, Diann. We always had an angel on top of our tree growing up. I have a small angel tree in one of the rooms and on the top is a small angel tree topper. Love your ceramic tree as well. Merry Christmas. Hugs.
