A couple commenters asked me about the blue crumb blocks I'm using for the Blueberry Taffy blocks after my Saturday post, and I had to go way back to September and October of 2022 to see where I had started them. There was this photo - I was challenging myself to make 20 crumb blocks out of my blue scrap bin. It's just a shoebox sized plastic bin!
And then this one - and yes, I did get 20 blocks.
Here's where I am today, up to 15 Blueberry Taffy blocks - five more to make!
I haven't looked in that blue scrap bin for awhile. I wonder what it looks like today.
I'm pretty sure these scraps multiply when we're not looking!
I bet there will be some pieces in there
that can go into my scrappy 4 patch project for 2024.

I’m quite convinced that scraps reproduce when I turn the lights off in my sewing room…. Sigh. I guess we will all just have to keep making scrap projects in an attempt to use them up. Fun blocks!
The scrap bins DO multiply Diann - don't leave them alone! Even my Christmas scraps are multiplying while sitting out on my cutting table.
Those taffy blocks are just too cute. I'm trying not to look at them. ;)
Hahaha! I'm certain scraps do multiply like rabbits! I love the blue blocks but that taffy quilt is really special! Have a great day Diann!
As many scrap bins as I have, I just can't seem to get "into" crumb blocks. String blocks, maybe.
I swear there is a magical scrap Genie that lives in my sewing room as no matter how many scrap quilts I make I always have full boxes of scraps. Do I really compress them down that much when I first fill a box and then when I paw through them air gets in and they poof back up - that much! I really and truly do not buy that much fabric each year. I think this coming year in January I need to keep a calendar of when I buy fabric to keep track.
Scraps are sneaky little things, which is why I've decided to try to tame my lot. Probably won't work, but hey, there's no harm. It keeps me out of trouble. Those taffy blocks make such a fun quilt.
Multiplying scraps would be the entire explanation for why my blue scrap bin is still so full when I've been trying to get rid of it all! I love the taffy blocks. What flavor do you think they are? :)
I love your blueberry taffy blocks!!! Yes, those scraps do multiply!!!
Scraps multiply not sure how they replicate so darn fast; but, they sure do! I too like your blue taffy blocks. You are so close to meeting your goal of twenty!
you know, my scraps multiply too when I'm NOT watching!
What a great use of pretty scraps. I just love these blocks. I agree the scraps do seem to multiply. I just can not whittle my bin down. Lol. Happy quilting. Hugs.
Those blueberry taffy blocks are the cutest and so, so tempting! :)
Those blueberry taffy blocks are great. Good use of your scraps too. I haven't decided whether I'll continue on with RSC. I keep picking blocks that drive me crazy. In other words I should make much easier blocks! We still have time to decide on whether to join in or not.
Love it! Blueberry Taffy is a great name!
Oh they make such pretty blocks.......... And I love blue......
