The two projects I've been working on recently that have January deadlines are FINISHED! Whoop, whoop!
The Arizona Tablerunner:
About 14 x 42
I found a great backing for it and now wish I had bought more of this fun print! 1/2 yard was just exactly enough.
This weekend is our get together with friends in Arizona,
so I will be taking it along to give to our hosts.
And the blue project is ready for the Villa Rosa Designs blog hop, which starts next week. Here's just a peak at the back of it!
My day to post is January 21st, so watch for the reveal then!
The other item on last week's list was to get myself a little more organized for the new year, and I've gotten a start on that. It's just a handwritten list - nothing fancy - but will help me be aware of what I could be working on.
Coming up, with being out of town for several days and then my cataract surgery coming up (right eye - January 23rd and left eye February 6th!), I probably won't do a To-To Tuesday post for awhile. It's hard telling what I will be able to get done in the sewing room for a few weeks.
I'll hope to:
- Work on Rainbow Scrap Challenge projects when I can.
- Be prepared with some embroidery designs traced to stitch on.
I have these three from Kathy Schmitz to choose from.
I'm leaning toward the comfy chair with teacup and book.
It looks like a fun one to stitch!

Woohoo, two projects done with fabric out! Good luck with your cataract surgery.
Several of you are on the Villa Rosa blog hop-how did you find out about it? I love Villa Rosa patterns! The AZ runner turned out great, have a great time in warmer country!!
The Arizona table runner is pretty - I like the pastels. Good luck with the cataract surgeries!
a lot of times cataract surgery barely changes how you do things afterwards other than putting in eye drops. sometimes you can drive already the next day. The main thing is if you are an eye glass wearer and you are getting the other eye surgery done the next several weeks later or the next month you might not see quite right until you can get a new prescription or you might be lucky and not need one at all.
I love a handwritten list. With today's technology, it doesn't seem like we do a lot of hand writing any more. You have some nice plans. Wishing you a speedy recovery after your eye surgeries.
Congrats on that beautiful runner finish. That backing fabric is fantastic. Good for you for taking some time off from TDT, and sending you good vibes for an easy and successful cataract surgery. The comfy chair reminds me of you. :)
So glad you get to have a few days in AZ with friends. That backing fabric is really cute! Looking forward to your blog hop entry. Taking it easy for a while seems like a good idea. I haven’t had cataract surgery,(yet), but Mr Busy has. I second what Karen said about the transition period. Be patient, it will all be good. I like the chair and book and tea design too, and the skates! :)
Love the Arizona runner and a I am sure your friend will love it. Have a great time there.
Cataract surgery is an easy one and you will be fine right after, sending positive thoughts your way.
The back of the table runner fabric is fantastic for sure. Hope you enjoy your visit. All the best for the surgery, hopefully you will be seeing so well once its all healed. (I haven't had it so have no experience to share!!)
Well done Diann on getting two projects finished. The Arizona runner is a perfect gift and the backing fabric on both of your finishes is stunning. Good luck with the list. Having cataract surgery is life changing! I still am amazed at what colours look like now. Hoping you have an easy procedure and enjoy your planned trip. Thank you for linking with To Do Tuesday. 😉
Congratulations on getting the AZ quilt finished with time to spare! I probably would have been stitching down the binding in the car on the way! haha! Good luck with the cataract surgery. I understand you'll see colors in a fresh new way!
That's backing is just perfect for your table runner. Great finishes!
Hi Diann! Oh, that backing for the AZ runner!! Doesn't it look like Sandra's (mmmQuilts) arrow pattern project? I can't remember the name of it . . . but it is very cool!! Safe travels to see your friends. The hummingbirds on the other backing are gorgeous, too. Good luck with your cataract surgery. Sue just had both of her eyes done in November. I put up a website page with the process if you'd care to read it. It was a very successful surgery on both eyes. She just got her final prescription on December 30th. {{Hugs}} a bunch. I'll add you to my prayers. ~smile~ Roseanne
Happy Tuesday, Diann. I do love your Arizona Runner. I think the soft colors attract me. I wish you the very best on cataract surgery. I hope you have a very productive week .
Enjoy your trip to AZ. I'm sure your hosts will be delighted with the table runner. Good luck with the cataract surgery. I understand it's a lot easzier than it used to be.
