2023 begins with a couple of finished quilt tops such as Masala Box, which is next up to be quilted.
I don't think that will happen in January,
but hopefully before too much time goes by!
I also ended 2022 with several WiPs that are continuing into 2023. One of them I'm calling Blueberry Taffy. You might remember this bunch of blue (and related colors) crumb blocks that I made in our last blue month.
My plan is to make them into "candy" blocks
with the crumb centers trimmed to 6.5 inches.
With January being blue month, I decided this would be a good one to continue working on.
Since the crumb blocks are already made, these go together pretty quickly!
They are 10 inches finished.
But I couldn't start a new year in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge without one new block to play with, could I? So I decided to start making some Split 9 Patch blocks. I started out by making a couple red ones, and then added dark blue to the mix.
I really like simple blocks that give you
lots of choices for different layouts!
Maybe some brighter blues next?
