To-Do Tuesday #163

Begins with a "Ta-daaaa!"  This week I finished my Autumn Jubilee tablerunner and I'm so happy with how it turned out.  Big thanks to Carole at From My Carolina Home for the block and design ideas - I enjoyed making this one very much!

I made the back from the leftover chunks of the front, plus a little extra of an olive-y green from the stash to make it wide enough.  The binding is a magenta print from the fat quarter bundle that I didn't use in the blocks, but worked nicely with the other prints.

I'm enjoying this on the table for a few days
before it's time to get out the Christmas quilts!

Since we were gone for four days for Thanksgiving, I haven't sewn much else, except for getting started on the tablerunner gift for some friends we'll be visiting in January.  This is the Arizona 2 block from Quilter's Cache.  I'm planning to make three of these stars for the runner.

So what's on this week's list?

I'd really like to get one of my Rainbow Scrap Challenge quilt tops sandwiched for quilting, but I'm waiting for backing that I ordered from Connecting Threads to arrive (it doesn't seem to have moved since last Thursday)!  I ordered basting spray through Amazon this morning (Monday), thinking it would be here by Wednesday (don't we get free two day shipping with our Prime membership?) but apparently not because it's not going to be delivered until next Monday... 🤨

So while I'm waiting for those items, I'll put these on the list:
  • Keep working on the Arizona tablerunner
  • Holiday gift for my quilt group's gift exchange - in progress, keep going
  • A little straightening up and scrap processing in the sewing room
  • Maybe even sew the borders on the Frosty quilt!

I'm joining in with To-Do Tuesday hosted by Linda at Texas Quilt Gal.

What a pretty finished table runner! Great job! You'll have stuff in the "OUT" column for Stashbusters! Yippee!

I enjoyed seeing the back on your Autumn Jubilee runner! I love backs like that! I hope you’re fabric from Connecting Threads moves toward you soon. It’s frustrating when you can track them and they just sit in some facility for days! We haven’t had two day shipping in forever, but it is still free! :)

it is always nice to get done with more small projects isn't it

Autumn Jubilee looks so cheerful on your table! You've reminded me that I need to order more basting spray. Amazon sends anything I order on Fridays now, unless I tell it I want it sooner. So I have to pay attention because I'm used to the 2-day turnaround too!

I just love how your Jubilee Autumn topper turned out, pretty in pinks/golds/oranges. So if you are doing an Arizona block, does that mean you are visiting AZ this winter?

Ta-daaaa! That's a great way to start a post. And it looks so nice on your table hosting a squash/gourd. It has such happy fabrics! Hmm. I've never seen the Arizona 2 block before - it looks a bit like a sunshine to me. I look forward to seeing all three of these in a runner. I predict a squirrel project in my January future (or whenever you get it complete). {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

I do love your colors for the AJ table runner, and I think you could use it in the springtime as well. Good luck right now with shipping. The "most wonderful time of the year" is full of packages in transit etc. I use Prime and delivery times are all over the place. I'll pop into my computer and order some random thing I just thought of without regard to making a big order with lots of items. Prime spoiled me, and saves me lots of gas! Looking forward to your projects as you near completion.

Autumn Jubilee is so sweet and cheerful and the back is just as lovely as the front. I love the magenta fabric and the sweet florals. Have a wonderful week.

Congrats on all the finishes before the holiday. Connecting Threads shipping can be really unpredictable, hopefully your backing starts moving soon. Good luck with this week's goals, hopefully all the stuff arrives before you have to make up your list for next week.

What a glorious finish, and it's nice to see those bigger chunks of the gorgeous fabrics you used on the back of Autumn Jubilee. I'm still holding out on my autumn stuff - in fact I might mix autumn with Christmas this year - lol! It's my party and I'll do what I want. ;) Ugh, prime membership shipping is always a guess - sometimes a week or more, and sometimes just one day! Thank you for sharing with To Do Tuesday!

Love that bright table runner! I am putting table toppers/runners on my list for 2023...you inspire me! I have not taken down my Autumn decor yet, either...just not ready. You would think that the blizzard raging outside would put me in the mood! :)

Such a cute table runner, Diann!! Love the colors! You're getting a real jump on that January gift, too!!!

I love how Autumn Jubilee finished up! It is a bright and cheery one! I gotta tell ya we kinda refuse to pay for Prime and have yet to pay for shipping for a single thing on Amazon, too. I think the shipping times are pretty much a cr*pshoot anyway. They change all the time so I hope yours got there in time!

Your Autumn Jubilee runner turned out beautifully, Diann! A set of the block you are working on will make a lovely runner for your friend. Happy stitching!
