The stitching on Winter's Brew was completed this week. I want to frame it in a wooden embroidery hoop like I did Spring Steep, and also am planning that for Autumn Brew as well. These are all Kathy Schmitz designs involving a tea cup!
Since I didn't make it to Hobby Lobby just yet to get the wooden embroidery hoops to finish off the above design, I decided to finish an older one that had been waiting for awhile.
This one is called "Patience," also a Kathy Schmitz design that I stitched in 2021.
I have a dear local friend who lost her mom this week, and I decided rather than send her flowers, I would give her this little handmade design to honor motherhood.
Today's slow stitching will be sewing on the binding and finishing it with hand stitching to the back!

Pretty teacup and a thoughtful sentiment.
Both projects are very pretty. What a nice way to say you are thinking of someone. Happy slow stitching today.
The border you put on Patience is beautiful, and what a wonderful gift to give your grieving friend. I love the teacup designs, that one is so pretty. I have variegated blue on my "to buy" floss list!
Your winter teacup is lovely! The variegated thread is perfect for this embroidery. What a beautiful and thoughtful gift for your friend who has jest lost her mom.

I really like the teacup. I'm sure your friend will love that.
Your projects are lovely and the finish with the mini-quilt is darling and sure to be appreciated.
I love the tea cups and clever to finish them similarly. Will you display them together or swap them out?
and what a thoughtful gift - she will cherish it <3
Lovely embrouderies, Diann. The tea cup is beautiful and what a special gift to your friend. Happy stitching the bindingto the back.
The blue variegated thread is just perfect for this teacup! I need to get back to some hand stitching soon. I am sure your friend will appreciate the little 'Motherhood' quilt and it will sure last longer than flowers would;)
Winter brew is a great finish. I’m sure your friend will appreciate your gift. It’s a lovely idea instead of flowers.
Beautiful stitching, and what a wonderful gift for your friend.
Love the sweet design in Winter's Brew. The blue embroidery on the pretty white fabric is fabulous. Love, too the pretty embroidered gift you are sending to your friend. It will bring a smile to her heart as she grieves the passing of her mum. So very thoughtful of you, dear Diann.
Such a pretty design you are making for your friend who is grieving the loss of her Mother.
Winter's Brew is so pretty. You stitched that up quickly. I love that you are giving Patience to a good friend. I look forward to seeing what you will work on next.
A gift from the heart will mean a lot to your friend and seeing it in the future will remind her of your friendship and kindness.
What a lovely gesture. It made a thoughtful gift!
