My only crocus bloom so far, and a tiny one at that!
But, it's a bloom, and some green to go with it, too.
I shared this mini quilt on Instagram the other day, so I thought I'd share it here, too. I'll call it a Throwback Thursday quilt, because I made it in 2011 after we visited Arches National Park in Moab, Utah. We loved Arches and really enjoyed our time there, so this provides a nice memory of it.
The kit I purchased just included the fabric for Delicate Arch and the borders and binding. I added the little buttons (to show rocks and birds) and stitched the sun-like spiral in the sky. This has been hanging in our bedroom ever since I finished it.
When Jen of Patterns by Jen sent out her March newsletter, I noticed this recipe that I decided to try, Baked Lemon Butter Tilapia. It was so good!
When Mike says I can make it again, I know it passed the biggest test!
On our way to our local Costco the other day, we had to do a quick pull over because of this view.
I know you can hardly see him, but there is a beautiful bald eagle right in the center at the very top of the tree. Mike didn't have his good camera, so this was the best I could do with my phone. Fortunately, we did have our good binoculars, so we could see him like he was just a few feet away!
We watched this interesting mini series on Acorn TV earlier this week, "Code of a Killer." It's based on the true story of Sir Alec Jeffreys, a British geneticist, who developed techniques for using DNA to help in crime investigations. It was well done as a drama, and the true story and science behind it is fascinating.
Next Monday is my book club get together, and we're reading Votes for Women, which was recommended by our friend, Michele, of 3PandN, and Pennsylvania Piecemaker. Thanks again, Michele! This book is so interesting and I'm learning a lot! We of our generation owe a lot to these women of the late 1800s and early 1900s who fought so hard for our right to vote, as well as other rights.
I'm really looking forward to our discussion!
Hope you're having a great week! I'm joining in, as I do every Thursday, with LeeAnna and many other bloggers, for "I Like Thursday" at Not Afraid of Color.
