I like my husband! 😘 It's his birthday today. I figured out that we have celebrated 45 birthdays together. Wow!
I'm thankful to have enjoyed a picnic in this beautiful place with him!
I love soup season! My favorite is lots of vegetables, some stew meat, a can of tomatoes and some beef broth, plus some seasonings. Smells so good cooking away in the crockpot all day!
I'm really liking how my hand-pieced pumpkins and embroidery are coming along.
This picture is from a couple nights ago - now the embroidery is almost done!
I'm looking forward to getting the layers basted and starting on the quilting part.
Four patches have become my favorite quilt block! These are for a border for my mom's table topper. I should just keep making more.
I really like this quilt top (at the link, scroll down a bit) that Libby, from Life on the Hill, shared the other day. Lots of four patches in a pretty setting!
I enjoy my book club so much! We met on Monday this week, and discussed this book. If you haven't read it, I really recommend it. I actually read it a year ago, so re-read it for our discussion, and enjoyed it just as much!
And one other like for this week - this neat little reusable bag that a friend gave me recently.
The zucchini bread that was in it is long gone, but I can use the bag over and over!
Hope you're having a great week! I'm joining in with my friends at Not Afraid of Color to share positive posts. Join us!
Your hand pieced pumpkins are so pretty--love how you are embroidering them...hugs, Julierose
That was a fantastic idea to add that embroidery to the pumpkin quilt! Love it...and I'm enjoying seeing your progress on it! Happy Birthday to your hubby! :-)
Your embroidery is lovely. Happy Birthday to your hubby! I have that book Where the Crawdad's Sing on hold at the library....for months it seems. I agree definitely soup or stew weather.
Your pumpkins - LOVE! I can't wait to see how you quilt it. You are inspiring me to incorporate embroidery into a quilt.
Happy birthday to your husband! And oh that stew looks delicious. Potato soup is on tap for us today. :)
Happy birthday to your hubby. What a lovely place to have a picnic. I'm looking forward to soup weather. Haha. I like 4 squares too-they make great borders.
Hi Diann! 45 birthdays together is SO cool. I have know Sue since high school - hmm. 2019 - 1976 = 44 years. We're right behind you as best friends. Where the Crawdads Sing is haunting me. I had my Barnes and Noble account hacked - I had never used it. The person ordered this book, and had it delivered to her. I never was charged for it at all, but I keep getting emails asking me to rate the book, etc. I definitely need to read it now - especially since you recommend it and B&N thinks I own it. HAHA! ~smile~ Roseanne
Your pumpkins are really looking great! Happy bday to your DH :)
Happy Birthday to your DH! I can’t wait to see the finished pumpkins piece for your mom; it’s looking so nice. We’ve been enjoying autumn cooking again this past week too. Soups are a real favorite here.
Happy birthday, Mr. Penguin!!!
Happy Birthday to your hubby! What a lovely spot to celebrate; the view is amazing. I can't tell you how many times I've considered reading that book. Now I'll have to get serious about reading it. I'm making a list for the library :-) Can't wait to see your finished pumpkin quilt with that pretty embroidery! And the soup looks delicious!
That's a lot of birthdays together. How wonderful. The colors on those four-patches are just so rich. Very pretty. Crawdads can sing? lol
I have to comment on that gorgeous purple sunset with tree silhouette. I have the Crawdads book on my Goodreads list, but haven't gotten to it yet. Reading the new Louise Penny Inspector Gamache mystery right now. Pumpkins, pumpkins, everywhere. I need to unearth the ones I made for Carole's Autumn Jubilee maybe two years ago and actually make them into something. Happy Birthday to your hubby.
Happy belated birthday to your hubby.
I'm with you on the four patches. I love making them too! There is something so relaxing about sewing together small pieces of fabric.
Happy belated birthday to your Guy! Love the embroidery you are adding to the pumpkins.
well I like both of you! Hope your dh has a wonderful year. Haven't heard of that book... LeeAnna
