I Like Thursday #112

Happy Thursday, friends!  Although these weeks are busy, I hope you're enjoying all the seasonal happenings in your neck of the woods!

I spent some time visiting my mom last week, and enjoyed helping her decorate for Christmas.   I love her pretty ceramic Christmas tree.  The "lights" are little birds!

And look what's on the couch next to the tree!  Mom really liked the redwork pillow I made her.

When we got home, I decorated our tree and that always leads to Mike getting out his camera to play around with photographing the lights.  These two photos were my favorites.

Doesn't everyone have Starbucks and M&Ms on their tree?!  :)

I have to share my Nativity, all set up.  My dad made this for me when Mike and I were first married - 1976!

A couple years ago I wrote a post all about this set, go HERE if you want to know more!

So, speaking of the Three Wise Men...  I liked this cartoon, found on Facebook the other day.

I'm enjoying this book right now.  If you are a fan of Mary Higgins Clark, you might know that she has a new series (5 books now) that is written in partnership with another writer, Alafair Burke.  This is the latest one.

This series is about a producer of a TV show that solves cold cases.

Thanks for visiting today!  For more I Like Thursday fun, head over to Not Afraid of Color!

I've never seen the ceramic tree with lighted birds! That's fab! I love your pillow and it is in place of honor there on the couch! Your tree photos are great! I hope you have a safe and wonderful week! Cheers!

Cute tree, and with birds! How cool. Your nativity is awesome. I have never read a book by Mary Higgins Clark. I put one on hold.

my sister has one of those Xmas trees with the little lights but I don't think hers are birds, she painted it in one of those ceramic classes from back in the late 70's or early 80's that were popular then. What a unique Nativity set your have I have never seen one like that your father was creative for sure!

Hi Diann! I love Mary Higgins Clark and her books. Did you ever read her daughter's books? I love that FB meme - three wiser women! HA! You know, I do have the M&M ornament - I think it's green but now I'm not sure. I'll have to look tonight at home. Oh, and you mom's little tree with birds on the branches - so cute! Enjoy the rest of your week. Happy Happy day to you. ~smile~ Roseanne

Wow- I didn't know about that book series. THX. That nativity scene is priceless. How sweet that you could help your mom decorate for Christmas especially with that pillow. Yay for Three Wiser Woman! I can't believe what a great shot of the cup in the lights is. Christmas lights are difficult to shoot. Have a great week. mary

That redwork pillow is just perfect for your mom and her little tree! It looks right at home. I love the modern nativity set; so fun that it's also a puzzle. Easy to store too! My decorations will be coming out this weekend, I think!

Love your Mom's Christmas tree, and I'm glad she loved the redwork pillow. Will she spend Christmas with another sibling?
Mike did a good job with the lights photos! I have been postponing decorating (trying to finish a quilt first) and will have to do it this weekend.
LOL on the cartoon! I've saved it to send to my daughter. :D
I enjoyed reading again the post about the nativity. I'm blown away by your Dad's talent.
What do you think about the Mary Higgins Clark series with the co-author? I used to buy every (hardback)book by MHC, back before we had Kindle, and I loved her. I wasn't as fond of the books by her daughter.

LOL, I have a Starbucks ornament on my tree (well, not yet as I still need to add ornaments to the tree but it is down in our boxes). No M&M one though. What a neat and meaningful Nativity set.

Oh, neat! That nativity all fits together! Starbucks on the tree - lol. We used to have a ceramic tree like that when I was a kid. So pretty in the dark.

A great "I like" post. Love the Three wiser women cartoon. I have two ceramic trees, one will round ball lights which was my mother-in-law's and the other with pointed lights. Your Dad's Nativity scene is wonderful, an heirloom for sure. Enjoy with holiday visit with your sons.

Wow, your dad is talented!!! It took me a minute to see all the subtle shapes in the nativity pieces.
See they had to say wise men, because it is not implied. When it is women, wisdom is almost always implied. Love the cartoon!!!
