I have a little flower garden in the front yard of my home, and this time of year it can easily look like this... (It snowed here yesterday...)
This week I've enjoyed finishing it into a mini quilt to bring a little Spring indoors! At about 9 x 17, it fits perfectly on my fridge.
I handquilted this project to give it some nice texture. My handquilting skills are pretty primitive, but even so, I really enjoy the process!
The tulips out in the garden are pretty hardy, so I know they'll bloom soon, but until they do, I'll enjoy this one!
Hope you're enjoying some weekend stitching, friends!

I was just thinking this tulip would look good expanded to a border - or in a row quilt a row of tulips - good as a small piece too though! I wonder if my tulips are now dead or if they will perk up for a few more days
Love your tulip! And your hand quilting is perfect for it. :)
It's just perfect for your frig so it reminds you of spring when it doesn't look like it outside! I think you should make 2 more and put on the ends of a table runner;)
Delightful. I really must have a go at this pattern. x
I've never had much luck with tulips -- too many chipmunks. Maybe I should stitch one for inside like your lovely bloom.
I am so ready for spring! It was 31 degrees this morning, but thankfully no snow. I need to get my little flower mini-quilt out for the stand.
I love how you've brought the great outdoors inside. Perfect!
Clever way to have beautiful flowers at home!! ;-)
I like your hand quilting. Much better than mind. That mini is sweet.
We got quite a bit of rain last night...more snow might be headed your way! I think we are all drawn to bright colors to try to bring on spring. I love your cheerful tulip!
Your tulip mini looks lovely, springy and cheery. This was a great idea.
Love your tulip. It's charming. Sorry for the outdoor ones. They might survive. ;^)
It is pretty as can be!
No snow here but rain is pummeling my tulips. I really like this block and might have to make some as a RSC project. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
Very pretty! What a fun way to bring in a little spring.
Lovely. Your hand quilting is great too. We definitely need some spring.
Very clever to make your own!
Our tulips are so confused at this point that they may not bloom until June...
It is beautiful Diann and I love your hand quilting. Well done, now you have already a fresh and beautiful tulip.
What a great mini quilt! I love the colors you chose and your hand quilting looks great!
Spring has been elusive at best. We quilters do what we have to do. The beauty of these tulips will last long after Spring turns into Summer, and Summer into Fall.
Definitely a great substitute for the real thing. Love your tulip and I think the hand stitching adds to making it look lovely.
