Mellow

I was in the mood for pulling out fabric and playing with an idea I've had in the back of my quilter brain for awhile.  I think I saw someone else's project with this sort of color combination a year ago or so, and it's just been simmering in the background since then.

Simple patchwork squares, cut at 5 inches, in medium to dark blues, shades of gray, and mellow greens...

I'm aiming for a 10 x 12 square layout to begin with, something like this -

It will take me awhile longer to find enough of a variety of fabric in these colors and cutting the squares, but I definitely have enjoyed playing around with this idea!

Yummy colors. Simple is often the best -- nothing crazy just the colors playing with other colors. Very nice.

That's not a color palette I would have thought of, but it looks great, very mellow. Have fun playing with the fabric selection and layout.
