Although the next color going out from the center will eventually be orange, it was fun laying out the purple blocks, too, just to see what could happen! You can see one neutral block in the bottom left corner.
I also made a red crumb block as a leader and ender project this week.
This collection is growing, too!

That String Star is going to be AWESOME!!! Using your Slab Block as a Leader/Ender is a REALLY good idea. LOVE how those are turning out, too!!
I love your string star blocks and would love to do more of those in the future. That is going to be one amazing quilt. And as Joyful Quilter said, that's such a great idea to use crumbs as leaders/enders.

The string blocks are beautiful! I struggle with the mess string blocks make, so I've only made one quilt of them, but I do love your blocks.
That string star is super! You always seem to find something new as,you go along. Always,another,surprise.
Although red can present problems because of its stunted range of value, you have clearly mastered that and added lots of movement too.
I think I spot a little merlot in that red. Looks like good progress on your string blocks.
