I did end up sewing on one more border in the dark red Kona. I found a little bit of a beige neutral in my stash for the backing. It needed a little more width so I added some of this pretty brown, red, and blue print from a fat quarter I found in my stash also. I realized I liked this print so much, I squeezed out enough for the binding, too.
When I make little projects I usually enjoy experimenting with the quilting some. After stitching down the orange peels, I also outlined them on both sides and it created this fun pattern.
I love the texture the orange peels along with the batting and quilting give this little piece.
All in all, I am really pleased with how this table runner turned out! Another mini to add to my collection for decorating my table with, or maybe even to hang on the wall. I just need to find an empty wall!
My other scrappy sewing was to make a few blocks for Kat's Covered in Love August block drive. These were Disappearing Nine Patches made with black and white and one choice of three accent colors - bright yellow, lime green, or Caribbean blue. I made one of each and sent them off to her just the other day.
I have been enjoying participating in the monthly block drives for Covered in Love as often as I can. It helps me feel like I'm giving back in a small way, and I've learned some fun blocks, too!

I love this table runner! You make me want to go to storage and open up my fabric boxes. ;) I love your fabric choices for borders and backing, and the quilting is beautiful.
Your table runner is lovely! I sure like the black and white blocks with a pop of color.
The quilting is phenomenal! Awesome finish.
And it's a very good way to use up those leftover pieces and get a great useful project at the same time! I like how you quilted it too.
LOVE the Orange Peel table runner and LOVE that you do blocks for CiL, too!! Kat has had some wonderful blocks for us to try our hand at over the past months. It feels good to be able to help out... even if it means just sending ONE block!
I love what you did with your orange peels. Your table runner is so wonderful! Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap! You have been having so much fun with your scraps :)
The table runner turned out beautifully. What a great way to use up some left over blocks.
Fun way to use up the orange peels - makes a great table runner alright. Putting on my to do list!
I've been wanting to do an orange peel... wonder why I never did one. It's so like tree leaves, which I love a tree. LeeAnna

You turned your orange peel blocks into a lovely runner. I am so glad you showed the back, it gave me a much better view of the lovely quilting, now I can really appreciate it.
