This week I was able to make a couple of monkey blocks to add to my collection! It turns out these sweet little blocks don't require a whole lot of cutting when you make the HSTs four at a time out of two charm squares, and use string bits and pieces for the rest of the block. These went together quite quickly and easily!
I also completed my sixth 16 patch block, so I have all of those blocks that I need for the month.
Aren't these polka dots fun? The selvage on the fat quarter says LOL by Me and My Sister Designs.
Looking at my green bin, I realized that I really haven't made a dent in those scraps, and there are plenty of strings to still use in some way, so I decided to make a couple of string blocks and turn them into little coasters or mug rugs for the table where my husband and I have our coffee every morning.
I've been trying to make a couple of these for each month's colors and I have 4 sets now. They are a fun, satisying, and quick project! I used a little more of those green polka dots for the backing.
Maybe this week I can tackle my Scrap Jar Stars. They require the most cutting and trimming of all of my RSC blocks, but if I do a little bit at a time, I can do it!
Looking forward to seeing what everyone else has been up to at Angela's ScrapHappy Saturday link up tomorrow!

Love your Oregon cup <3
Your blocks all look great. Happy to hear you can sew a bit now. Keep healing!
Keep an eye on those monkeys! They get up to more mischief...
Though aren't they fun?
Glad to see the healing is coming along enough to let you sew!
LOVE those GREEN coasters!! Good luck with taming those Monkeys.
It's amazing how different the Little Monkeys look depending on the placement of light, dark and medium fabrics. Great fun!
You Little Monkey blocks are fun, love all the colors. They are a great way to use up scraps. Hope you get some time in the sewing room to play with some more green scraps.
Lots of great sewing this week! Love the coasters! Great way to use up those strings!
polka dots are fun so much fun I want to make an entire quilt from them. I kind of did, I might put a picture of that up this week. Made it in 1996. LeeAnna
Nice greens! You have done a lot.
Glad to know you are healing and sew a lot this past week. The blocks are perfect and I love that LOL green polka dot. Pretty coasters.
So good to see your sewing. You must be getting better? Happy to hear that. I love to make mug rugs. I have quite a collection, although must of them are at friends' place. :^) Love those monkeys. They will make quite a lovely quilt someday. Good job. ;^)
Cute Little Monkey blocks! Glad you are able to have some Fabric Therapy!
Please don't tell me I have to hurt my wrist to be so productive! Love your monkeys!
Great idea for the mug rugs, must remember and copy that! All your green projects are looking great Diann. Funny, I left my second project to the last as it requires a fair amount of messing around to get a good colour flow, but easy cutting. Similar mindsets!
Congrats on finding clever easy solutions like the charms for the HSTs, using your head before overusing your hand. Those green monkeys are cute and the green dots are terrific.
