Playing with pastels...

It's always fun to find out the new color of the month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge! When Angela suggested we focus on the pastel shades, my first thought was "what can I dig up that fits that?"  So I started with the light blues.

In January, I made two Jacob's Ladder blocks - one in dark blue and one brighter.

Through trial and error in the first five months of the year, I've learned that these blocks need to have fabrics that contrast well with the ecru background, but not with each other.  So the big question was - would it work with very light blues?

I think this will work!

So now there are three blue blocks -

And here's the whole gang, in very random layout!

And some quilting was completed on light blue, too -

A good start for June!

Nice that you had some fabric in the stash that would work!

That is a pretty blue, and it shows up quite well! Love the light blue print you quilted.
I thought of you yesterday as I worked on - guess what - placemats!

The light blocks are going to work well with the brighter ones. Good choices!
