It is handy that the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color of the month for May is orange, because I had decided that my next Little House block would have more orange in it. And I did pretty well with that!
This block is called Kit in the Corner, and goes along with the story from Little Town on the Prairie where the Ingalls family needs a cat to take care of the mouse problem. I also loved the part where Laura got a job helping a seamstress in town sew men's shirts. I remember this book being one of my favorite stories of the series, even as a young girl, reading about Laura wanting to help the family, and especially her sister, Mary.
It didn't take long to add the log cabin borders to this center block. I'm getting more efficient with that as we go along! And only two more blocks to go!

the quilt blocks are all looking great and orange is a good addition to them. I always loved the Little House books and my girls read them too and watched the show.
You picked such a fun color scheme for these blocks. They really are happy blocks.
I remember the seamstress episode -- 60 buttonholes in 60 minutes! (Can't do that on my sewing machine.) Your log cabin sampler will be a beauty.
Your quilt is coming together nicely, love all the coloring.
Your blocks all look so good together, you really picked a pretty combo. I like that text print too. It is my favorite time of the year, which I will be looking forward to as soon as spring is gone!
Beautiful blocks! Orange and turquoise are so pretty together and the brown is a nice touch as well. Thanks for joining the block parade and Sew & Tell.
Oh, I recognize that gorgeous Benartex fabric!! Great block.
Kit in the Corner is a cute blocks. The little bit of orange in each block ties them all together, I think.
Love the colors you've selected. The blocks are looking good. And yes, they do still sell pantyhose (from your previous post). I needed to have a pair for a wedding, and I found them! Ha, ha.
Your block looks amazing, Diann. I love the cheery sunflower fabrics that you are using. I hope you are having a wonderful day. Hugs
I read all the Little House books and watched all the shows when was a child. I loved that show! I saw a play several years ago based on one of the books…Melissa Gilbert played Ma. She had to pause saying her lines when she first came on that stage as everyone was clapping.
Love your blocks and the fabrics you are using for them.
Gail at the cozy quilter

You've chosen such pretty colors in those log cabin blocks.
Super great block - and wow - they all look so great together. Fun to see it growing
Your collection of blocks is looking great! Love the fabrics you are using in yours.
Lovely blocks, it's been a long time since I've stitched log cabin blocks. In fact, the proje t is still sitting and waiting to be finished! Perhaps next year.
Pretty block(s). The fabric you have chosen is so pretty.
Oh, my! How did I miss a QAL about Laura???? I just checked it out & I'll have to save the posts & do it myself. Your blocks are oh, so cute!
I just finished mine last night.
Perfect! Thanks for sharing in the block parade. <3
