Ideas for Orange

Orange is the May color of the month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, so I got out all the orange I could find and started sorting!

I think the cute elephants/trees/houses print will go in my May placemat.
Those robins could make a fun house for the Quilters Cove project.
And look, there's even a tiny 16 patch, all ready to be finished into a gameboard block!

But what about the Jacob's Ladder project?  See the orange Grunge and fall leaves print up in the top right of the above photo?  I thought they might be work together in a block.

Yes!

It was a little more challenging to find two more oranges that would work well together for the second block.  They need to go together, not contrast with each other.  Then I remembered that there are some orange pieces in the fat quarter bundle that I made this year's SAHRR from.  How about this combination?

I think that worked!

Here are all the blocks together - I enjoy seeing the collection grow.

And along the way, the orange gameboard block was sewn up, too!

I'm already having fun with orange - how about you?

Terrific new orange blocks! I also find it so satisfying to see a collection of blocks grow each month with new colors.

Well done, Diann. I’ll be playing catch up again this month. Those two blocks give great contrast to your Jacob’s Ladder project.

you have good orange combinations and they will all work. I always find that I have a lot more orange colors than I realize when I pull the box out.

Arent you clever, great orange blocks. I haven't started on orange yet, hopefully next week. It's not my favourite by any means but it does have its place.

You are singing my song with your orange combinations. That second Jacob's Ladder is especially stunning. And then there is the layout of the earlier blocks combined with this month. It just keeps getting better and better.

I am behind in RSC, though I've got one quilt entirely done. I am loving the way your blocks are shaping up.
