I Like Thursday #474

It snowed here!  Not much accumulation, but lots of good moisture.  Even my husband, who hates snow, was happy to see this!

A snow day made us feel like baking, and snickerdoodles were the choice of recipe.  They turned out to be yummy!

I got some happy mail last week - thank you, LeeAnna!  I had told her I loved the cute books/reading prints that she used in one of her Project Quilting projects, and she sent me some pieces.  ❤️❤️❤️   I have an idea for how to use these, but need to think it through a bit before starting.

LeeAnna's question of the week is about fashion - if we could bring back any fashion trend, what would it be?  And this one had me just about stumped!  You might call me "fashion-challenged."  I don't follow the trends - just wear what's comfortable.  So I came up with one that I'm glad has NOT come back - shoulder pads in everything!  This came from a Pinterest board titled "1980s Shoulder Pads - the Epitome of Power Dressing!"

Remember Joan Collins of Dynasty fame?
She even wrote a memoir called Behind the Shoulder Pads!

And piggy-backing on last week's topic - something that I'm glad came back into fashion is curly hair!  This is Susie Wargin, a well-known TV and radio personality for probably 30 years here in Colorado.  She is known for her curly hairstyle, and I have always admired it.  It has probably changed and become a little looser in the years since I when I first noticed her, but it is still so pretty!

Have a great Thursday, everyone!
I'm joining in with Not Afraid of Color for I Like Thursday.

Cute prints! I remember the days of the mini mini skirts and extra wide bell bottom pants. . .those are back! I didn't wear those then and won't wear them now either! I like comfortable too!

Let's bring back hats! And dressing a bit better to get on an airplane, go to a show, or in professional jobs. Lately even the news and sports announcers look like slobs or streetwalkers.

Glad you got some moisture. I've missed your snow photos! I don't think there is one fashion trend I would bring back. I'm laughing at Carole's answer. She would be appalled at the pajamas we occasionally see on folks at our Walmart - lol!

I saw LeeAnna got snow too! Happy for you Coloradans!!! Have to admit I'm glad I don't have curly hair but I do get wavy hair with humidity. Too bad it's not cooperative and refuses to be managed but I can live with that! Lol! Yoi! Shoulder pads! Joan Collins was the queen of elegance though. Loved her on Dynasty!

Those are really cute prints! So nice of LeeAnna to share with you. Yes, those shoulder pads were a hoot!

LeeAnna sent you some really cute fabrics. The dragon reading a book is my favorite! Can't wait to see what you do with them. I'm not much of a follower of fashion trends either. And, like you, I'm glad shoulder pads are a thing of the past.

Love snickerdoodles. How do you keep them so puffy. Mine always spread out too much. I've never been a fashion plate. While I'm tall and slim, I always look gawky in everything I wear. These days it's jeans and sweatshirts in the winter and shorts and t-shirts in the summer. Comfort before fashion.
Can't wait to see your SAHRR. And the sampler is coming along nicely.

I don't remember what it was for but one time some years ago my younger daughter was able to interview Joan Collins for an article on a cooking blog. Evidently she likes to cook or did (I'm not sure if she is still alive) she said she was so friendly. I used to love shoulder pads.

I am glad that the snow was light. This time of the year we never know what to expect. How sweet of Leanna to send you the adorable prints. I look forward to seeing them in a project in the future. I always love to see how the fashion trend swing back and forth. Have a fabulous day. Hugs.

Snickerdoodles! It's been ages since I've made any. We're starting to see ground that we haven't seen since January. Whew!

We had a bit of snow but it’s gone now. Awful wind today!! I kind of like some shoulder pads. They balanced my small bosom with my wide Norwegian hips. Not like Joan Collins wore but a little more on top so I didn’t look like a 🍐. LOL
I haven’t eaten a snickerdoodle in forever. YUM!

I was going to say it's too late for us to have snow, but it's spring break here and we've had snow and ice storms this week in the past. We are dry here, so I get that any moisture is welcome. I'm with you, so glad that shoulder pads haven't made a come back yet.
