My favorite activity after Thanksgiving is to change out all my fall decorations for Christmas. The first things to come out are the quilted items I've made and the mugs for morning coffee.
Sunday afternoon, I also changed out everything on the little chest of drawers after finishing the December heart.
All of this got me in the mood to play with the Christmas scraps! I keep them in the bottom drawer of this little storage unit. There's plenty to play with!
I ended up cutting a bunch of 2.5 inch squares. It was fun to fussy cut a chunk of text fabric that was in there.
Believe, merry, jingle, peace!
I sewed the reds and greens to the white prints and started laying them out to see what kind of pattern I could make.
And the bonus is - these make some festive leaders and enders for sewing up the 16 patch stars into a quilt top this week!

Happy Wednesday, Diann. It is such a delight to see your December display. I cannot thank you enough for stitching my humble designs. I do the same thing as you - pull out my seasonal quilts first and it is always fun to have a seasonal mug . Those are some gorgeous Christmas fabrics that you are working with. Enjoy your day and stay warm.
We are in the process of decorating for Christmas. It’s always fun to see your monthly display with the heart and bowl fillers. I still have two more gifts to make …. Gail at the cozy quilter
We are not yet pulling out our little table size Christmas trees--we plan on this weekend for that. I love how your little 2.5" sqs. are looking with those white prints...really nice...
Have fun switching out for the Holidays...hugs Julierose
You have some pretty Christmas prints to play with, Diann. I always enjoy seeing your display on the chest of drawers. That little heart quilt is precious.
I always look forward to your chest of drawers display. I still have my autumn decorations up and will enjoy them until later this week. What pretty Christmas scraps and they look so good sewn together!
Happy Festive Wednesday! You reminded me to get out my Christmas mugs now. So far I've only put out a few Christmas items around the house. I'll get busy on that this weekend. Love how you have a drawer dedicated to Christmas scraps. Great idea!
Happy Wednesday! Your Christmas decorations look great assembled together. I like what you are doing with your Christmas scraps!
cute mug - I told Melanie I need to get the Xmas decorating started this weekend if she wants to drop by - it is supposed to be a little warmer which will work out well for getting the boxes to the house.
