Our house is looking festive this year, I think! We bought a new one of those lights that projects green and red dots on the house, and I love it. It makes me think of little fireflies flitting around.
We came up with a yummy meal the other day. We like Panda Express and the guys especially like their chow mein noodle dish. So, younger son wondered if he could find a copycat recipe of it, and of course he did. He stir-fried it in his wok. I sautéed shrimp to go with it. Here's a link to the recipe.
Yum!
LeeAnna's question of the week is about holiday stress and how do we handle it? I don't typically feel too much stress around the holidays unless I get too scheduled up with too many events and activities - which happens to be how this week is going for me!
After today, though, things will settle down. What I crave when life gets busy, at any time of year, is a good book to read and some sewing time. Fortunately, I do have a good book in progress right now! I've enjoyed other books by this author - she writes historical fiction that centers on Cuba, and they're always interesting!
This afternoon is my quilt group's Christmas get together, which is always a blast. We're all bringing a gift and then will play a dice game to pass the gifts around. Should be fun!

Sounds like a lot of fun at your quilt group! I love the little specks of light on your house, they do look like fireflies! I haven't seen those in the neighborhood. Really pretty! Can you see them in the house (through the window)? Love the recipe and will show hubby it. Sounds wonderful. We don't have a Panda Express around here that I know of... Wishing you a fun day!
Holiday lights are such fun to see. The recipe sounds good. You're the second friend who's recommended Chanel Cleeton. I'll need to try one of her books . . .
I haven't seen fireflies in person; but, I do like your new light! I haven't heard of this author; but, I put her and your book recommendation on my list. Thank you!
Those lights remind me of the firefly's I saw in Nashville last summer! Great memory. Love your book recommendations. I'm listening to Bruce Leonards Quilt City series right now - on book 5. Love the little wok. The recipe looks yummy. Enjoy the gathering today.
Kinda looks like you used Ramen noodles is that correct? We too love Panda Express and have a hard time finding the right noodles. Love the dot projections on your house.
Have fun at the get together! I love your Christmas lights! They look great!
Christmas lights are always so cheery. That chow mein looks great! I love get togethers this time of year (although it can get hectic!).
the noodle dish sounds good! Love those lights it looks like not much work is involved!
Your home looks very festive, Diann. Sounds like after today you will be ready to sit back and enjoy the holidays.
Love the photo of your lighted up house - I had seen those lights advertised and they looked so pretty. Yum that noodle dish looks so good, I'm going to use the linked recipe as a the sauce for our rice dish today!
Does everyone bring a dish for your quilt group - I'm always more interested in the food! :D
