October has been a beautiful month here and it's been all about leaves this week! I enjoy taking a walk around my mom's complex after I visit with her for awhile. This tree was so pretty!
It's fun to look for the perfect ones.
I think this one was my favorite.
Of course, this time of year, the leaves are coming down, and yard clean-up is on the To Do list! We live in an older neighborhood with many big trees, and have lots of leaves covering the yard right now. LeeAnna's question of the week is how do we clean them up. Well, we do everything - mow, blow, rake, you name it. Last year, I even figured out that I could shovel the leaves up and dump them into our trash cans.
These get dumped into Mike's pick-up truck bed and taken to our city's recycling center where they turn yard waste into mulch and sell it. It's a good thing!
And one other thing to share this week - we went to the movies! We saw the Downton Abbey movie, and enjoyed it very much. It's a good ending to the longtime story.
Hope you're having a great week!

What beautiful reds in your neighborhood. I love this time of year for the color! The wind blows a lot of leaves in our yard somewhere else. Hubby also rakes and blows leaves and needles.
We are in leaf raking season here too. It rained yesterday so there are lots of leaves to rake today. I actually like raking leaves! 🍁 Gail at the cozy quilter
Is your pretty Mom able to get out for a walk and see those pretty trees? How is she doing? Look at you shoveling those leaves with a red snow shovel! I love to use leaves as compost. The only trees we have on our lot are crape myrtles, but we tend to get our neighbors' leaves in our yard. We will probably wait until Downton comes to streaming, but it would be fun to see it in a theater!
That is a gorgeous tree. I’m no good a tree species. Is it a maple? We saw Downton Abbey too. It was a good night out, though we went late afternoon. Our theatre has changed ownership and has been remodeled. It’s very nice.
Gorgeous trees! Our city collects the leaves and creates mulch but gives it to residents for free. Can't wait to see the Downtown Abby new movie! Thanks!
Beautiful fall colors in your neck of the woods. I hope your mom is doing well. We are looking forward to the new Downton Abbey. That is one series my hubby enjoying watching with me.
That is a gorgeous tree! I love your idea to use a shovel for the leaves!
Lots of leaves here too but happy we are not on a street as such so no pressure to do the clean up. You look so cute there shoveling them...a real autumn photo.
That's quite a pile of leaves! I'm looking forward to seeing the Downton Abbey movie - that series had some serious staying power!
