Flowers in February

From the blog reading I've done this week, it appears that many of us around the country are done with February and ready for Spring!  I know I am... But, knowing that I don't have much control over that, I have instead enjoyed sewing sunny, yellow flowers in my studio this week!

I finished up one more sunflower -

The larger one is about 12 inches in diameter and the smaller one is about 10 inches.

And got pieces cut and the stitching started for another one.

I think I need at least four sunflowers, maybe five.  Thank you to Jennifer (and others who chimed in, too) who gave me the idea to make these sunflowers in different sizes!  I took your advice and am doing that.  I'm thinking I might even make a teeny tiny one!

I also made this week's Tiny Tuesday block.  Thanks go to Mari, The Academic Quilter, for this pretty flower.  I love it!

Here is my collection so far!

These are so much fun!

For more yellow goodness, check out the posts at Soscrappy for ScrapHappy Saturday.  That's where I'll be!

different size flowers will be really nice. yes no control over how fast the year goes by - almost March already and we know spring really will be here soon once you think of how fast January and February went by!

Yes, those bright yellow flowers are gorgeous and yes, also a welcome sight. More freezing rain headed our way...all the Colorado Lows are making for Ontario this year it seems. LOL And I just love how those tiny blocks are looking together...colours are working beautifully.

Your sunflowers are so lovely. I don't actually do the Tiny Tuesday blocks, but every week there are somebody tempting me doing them. This week it is you, and I'll make one as soon as I come near a sewing machine.

I adore your sunflowers! Going with the different sizes was definitely a great idea!
I haven't been doing the tiny Tuesday blocks, but there are a few that I think I'll use as small quilts. Such a lot of fun packed into small spaces!

The sunflowers with the sprouts! Love! And yeah, varied sizes. So fun! I know, too many exclamation points, but I’m excited. Those Tiny Tuesday blocks are going to be a good catalog for all kinds of quilty inspiration.
