After getting a red Gameboard block made earlier in the week, I thought this would be a good time to take stock of where I am with them. I think the last time I shared the full collection was in March, and there were sixteen complete blocks made, with four 16 patch centers waiting in the wings.
I know I made more pinks and oranges in April and May. This month it was time to add a couple aqua blocks to the bunch, so I did just that!
A yellow and a green block were added, too, just to catch up, and now there are 24 blocks! I'm shooting for 30, so just six more needed. I think another purple block, for sure, a yellow, and maybe some in black prints.
In other aqua sewing, I've been playing with an idea for this month's scrappy placemat, starting with this bunch of fabric.
At first I thought I might try a color wash of the dark to light, but I just couldn't get inspired by that. So then, I decided to play around with more squares and rectangles, and pulled out some leftover scraps of a wide backing that has aqua sprinkles in it. Out of that I cut some 2.5 inch squares, and then 2.5 x 4.5 inch rectangles of the different aquas.
This kind of design could be fun in a rainbow of colors!
Plus I have lots more of that "Sprinkle" print left to use up.
I hope to have a scrappy aqua placemat ready to share next week.

The Gameboard Blocks are adorable, Diann. I really like this design. And that sprinkle fabric is too cute! You have some fun strips to work with for your new placemat. Enjoy your weekend. Hugs.
The game board block collection is looking very colourful! Just a few more to make and you can put them together. Looking forward to seeing this month’s addition to the placemats. Gail at the cozy quilter
You have some really pretty aquas! I always enjoy seeing your Gameboard pieces. I love that they look complicated but aren't. I like the start of your scrappy placemat! Hope you enjoy your weekend.
You just make the prettiest RSC blocks/quilts. I have been missing not working on donation quilts much I need to get back at it some day!
Love the gameboard blocks! I love them! That's a cute placemat! I might have to make some of them too!
They look so good together!! I ran out of the tiny 16-patch centers (already made) and set aside my Gameboard blocks until I got more centers made, but now I need to get back to making them again since I'm about done with a couple of other RSC block sets.
Gameboard is really coming together so beautifully--nice work on this. I am also making some placemats--summery ones--mine are simply large piece of fabric with jelly roll leftover borders...so far they are being pin basted for machine quilting later on...my "Littles: pile to be quilted is growing...hugs, Julierose
Wow! Your game board blocks sure play well together! I like the results of you playing with the aquas with the constant sprinkle fabric.
Your Gameboard blocks are coming into being a really pretty quilt--and those are lovely Aqua, turquoise and teal fabrics to be playing with--I have been playing with these colors this week too--hugs, di
I probably won't get to my aqua blocks until the end of the month - yours sure are nice looking! I love aqua
Those game board blocks in RSC are fabulous. What a brilliant idea.
Thank you, Gwyned! These blocks have worked well as leaders and enders for other projects for a long time. It's getting close to where I'll have to decide what to do with them!
Those AQUA Gameboard blocks make a great addition to your growing collection, Diann!
That's a nice block, the middle checks seen to sparkle!

Oh Diann, your collection of gameboard blocks are looking fabulout !
The checker board blocks are really fun, it's going to be a fun quilt. Looks like you found a great way to use up both the teal and the left over sprinkle fabric.
Love the photos of Gameboard blocks. It is so close to becoming a top. Exciting! It will be a fun quilt for sure. ;^)
Love the game board blocks. The sprinkles fabric works so well with all colors. Fun aqua fabrics you have to play with.
I like your Gameboard blocks. I made a few of these for a charity project that I work on but the blocks were to be 16" in size; your look like maybe 8"? A much nicer size to work with. You have some beautiful aqua fabrics to play with!
Thank you, Chantal! I've enjoyed making these blocks here and there. It's almost time to figure out what to do with them!
That sprinkle fabric looks familiar -- I wonder if I have some of it too? Your block collection looks really good. You have a wonderful collection of aquas. I like your placemat plan too. That sprinkle fabric really draws all those fabrics together so nicely.
The Gameboard blocks look so good, Diann. They are going to make a nice quilt. I love the aqua scraps and look forward to seeing the newest placemat.
