The heat dome has reached Colorado... this is hot!
But the humidity is only 15%, which helps make it bearable.
In my comfy chair with the fan blowing on me, it is good stitching weather. So I have the Summer stitch-along project finished and I have enjoyed every stitch!
For stamp 9, I chose the original design that Melisa offered us, Canning Season. I love the fresh produce of summer, and I love those tiny canning jars!
Plus that red bowl of peaches reminded me of my bowl of cereal with fresh Colorado peaches sliced on top. So yummy! I even have a red bowl, lol!
I guess this means I can start a new project??? I have the chart saved for Hello Autumn from Primrose Cottage, and this would be a good time to start that - to have it ready for fall.
So that's a possibility.
But there's also a lot of people talking about Christmas in July, and after looking through all of Melisa's Christmas designs in her post here, I remembered that I had started this Santa - probably last December. And all that's left to stitch is Santa himself, and some snowflakes.
Maybe stitching Santa and some snowflakes would make it feel cooler? 😊

Ugh I saw that your section of the country was going to get hit with the heat dome. We are getting a little break today with some storm outflow sagging down from Oklahoma into north Texas. The wind is out of the north! I love all your stitcheries, but the summer stamps are so, so cute! Will you frame it? Hope you can stay cool this week!
We are hoping heat dome we've had has moved on for good. At least temps are back down to 88 instead of the 90s, but the humidity is brutal. Fun Summer stitchery, done in time to enjoy this year. I hope you'll be inspired by my Christmas In July event, I am working on the posts today!
We will be in the 90s starting tomorrow, 99 on Friday, I just hope the humidity is down by then. You will find me in the house for sure!! Congrats on the latest finish. Thank you for the reminder about Hello Autumn-at least I think I have not stitched it yet!! When I turned my calendar to July there is a pic of sunflowers.
Quite pleasant in our neck of the woods today. The sun is shining and the birds are singing. Cute jam stamp! Time to get Santa and those snowflakes stitched! I hope to do some hand quilting later.
Summer has started off with a vengeance it seems. So glad we all have our sewing rooms to ride out the season. The Summer Sampler turned out beautifully. Melisa does such fun designs, almost makes me want to get back to cross stitching (but I have UFOs there too, so not touching that for now). Your new autumn project will be fun to do, but I also get the urge to finish the Santa. Hopefully you can work in both?
Yikes! Stay cool while stitching!
The heat is supposed to be returning to us this week for a couple of days, but our humidity will probably be well over 50% as it is for most of the summer. Stay cool. I think stitching that quick Santa would be a good plan. I love the Summer Stamps. Your peaches look delicious. I have only been getting hard, mealy ones this year. Very disappointing.
good the humidity is low ours of course is high like usual but cooler today so that will be nicer - but that means 86 or whatever instead of high 90's
Wow you are in a heat wave! Do stay cool, Diann. Eeeh, your Summer Stamp Sampler is fabulous and so bright and cheerful. It brings a smile to my day. Thank you so much for stitching along with me. The Primrose Cottage piece will be a perfect start as you dream of cooler weather. And look at the little Santa stitch! It will not be long before the jolly fella is all stitched up. Enjoy your day, sweet friend. Hugs.
Oh I forgot, your table setting with the gorgeous placemats is so pretty. Yum on the peaches.
I love seeing your cross stitch projects! You are quite proficient!
Great work on finishing Melisa's summer design. She designs such pretty patterns, but then, I'm not a cross stitcher.
Hi Diann, congrats on your finish. The jars and bowl block is really cute. Have fun with which ever project you either continue or start. If it's dry heat than it's almost bearable! Take care.
Your Summer Stamp Sampler looks great, Diann. I chose the canning stamp as well for #9. I love the fabric you are using for the Santa stich. Such a pretty color. Hello Autumn was a quick stitch. You'll have it done in time for fall.
