More summer stitching...

I've continued stitching along with Melisa's Summer Stamp SAL, and making progress.  This week I finished up Home Tweet Home and started In the Apiary.  Melisa has revealed her finish and you can find it here.  I'm getting close!

I was trying to make the bird look like a house finch because we see them at our feeders all the time here, so I stitched his head in red.  (That's my story and I'm sticking to it!)

I also got started on the Summer embroidery for the Gail Pan Changing Seasons project.  I decided to stitch it in red because that feels like summer to me.  It is definitely hot here right now - we had a couple cool rainy days last week, but are right back up in the 90s this weekend!

So there's plenty of slow stitching to be done here this Sunday!

Supposed to be really hot here this week too. Good weather for staying inside where it is cool and stitching! Another beautiful Gail P embroidery! You are almost finished the summer stamps project too. Stay cool and enjoy every stitch.

I got as far as printing out 'Summer' yesterday, trying to get myself in the cross stitch mood. I love your new Gail Pan stitch project. We are getting rain this morning.

You've been doing so well at keeping up with your sewing. I've never really thought about what color means summer, that is a hard one. I like that you picked red. Happy stitching today.

My mother read a description of the house finch that said it looked like it had been dipped in cranberry juice.

You truly are nearly finished with Summer. It’s adorable. Have I asked you before what pen you use to trace the Gail Pan designs? Of course Summer is red. There are strawberries, tomatoes, watermelon, & red and white checked tablecloths at picnics.

Your stitching looks great. It's been brutally hot here too but, thankfully it cooled down a bit yesterday :)

I love your red headed finch. :D Your summer embroidery is looking good. Tell me again what you use to trace the pattern?

The finches are at our feeder now, and they have quite the conversation while munching on seeds! Cute stitcheries! Stay cool - we are heading into those temps this week, so I'm planning to stay in as much as I can.

Nice stitching, Diann. You'll be finished with Summer Stamp Sampler soon. I like the changes on the bird. House Finches are plentiful at our feeders as well. They are big bullies for such tiny things.

Your little finch is as cute as a button, Diann. What a clever idea. We have house finches visiting our feeders too. They are a hoot to watch. Great start on the Apiary too. Hugs and Blessings.
