It's the "Oh look!" season in my garden right now. Such as "Oh look, there are some tiny tomatoes!"
Or - "Oh look, a baby cucumber!"
And "Oh look - we've got a little pumpkin!"
The trick is to keep them growing to maturity, lol!
I've been reading the July book for my book club this week. I'd heard mixed reviews about it, but I'm liking it. Not quite done with it yet, but getting close. It is historical fiction, about two married couples during and after WWII, who live in a small town in Ohio. Somewhere I saw it described as a "quiet" book, and I would agree with that. Not a page turner, but one you want to read to the end to see how everything turns out.
LeeAnna's question of the week is about going to the beach as kids. I grew up in Rochester, NY, right on the shores of Lake Ontario, so that is where we went to the beach. It felt like the ocean to us because the lake is so big that you can't see to the other side of it. We did play in the sand and swim - lots of fun!
This is not my photo - a screenshot from Google Maps.
As an adult I have discovered a love for being by the ocean - walking along it, listening and looking at the waves, and picking up treasures I find. I have bowls and bowls of them around my house!

Oooh I just love taking a peek into your lovely garden . And how lucky are you ! Cucumbers , maters and pumpkins growing! My cukes are not looking good at all. . Sigh. Strolling the beach and looking for treasures was always a favorite summer beach activity of mine too. Neat sand dollar. Have a super day, Diann. Hugs.
Isn’t it fun to watch the veggies grow and develop into something you can eat later in the season?
My family rented various cottages each summer and we always enjoyed swimming, canoeing, fishing and waterskiing. When our daughter was little, we took her to family camp and made drizzle castles at the beach. Great memories.
Sand dollars are so pretty!

Wow! So happy for you that you have vegies coming on already! Wonderful! I love your sanddollar! I've never found one on a beach but it sure is pretty! Have a great day!
Hooray for all the "oh looks" in your garden. Will you eat the pumpkin, or use it for decor? Or, perhaps you'll do both?
I always love seeing your garden! Those baby veggies are so welcome, right? Wishing you luck with your pumpkin. I bet I would enjoy the western US beaches like you visit. We've been to so many Gulf beaches I'm just burned out on them. But I do remember white sandy beaches and blue water of several islands we've visited - I could get used to those!
Looks like you have a "green" thumb after all after seeing all those baby veggies! What a fun memory of the beach!
Your garden is doing better than mine. I saw blooms on my zucchini plant last week. This week there is nothing. Something ate the blooms!
Did you plant jack o'lantern pumpkins or pie pumpkins? Those vines can take over! No tomatoes for me yet. I enjoyed Buckeye, too. (I'm leading our book club discussion next week -- The Correspondent.)
that is nice that your garden is producing now! mine is still over grown with weeds. We have collections of shells from different trips and have sand dollars too
It's always fun to see your plants actually are producing stuff. Fingers crossed you get a bumper crop. When we lived in Texas, we were about 15 miles from the beach. My Girl spent a lot of time there when she was little. She's only be back once since she's moved here. Though she's about an hour away now, so I'm sure that plays into it.
Yay for the garden goodies starting to show up. Growing up in SDak, we went to the lake, not to the beach. Lots of memories.
